I have a JD 2720 which was upset on its side, no damage except that the engine cylinders must have filled with fuel because when it was uprighted, it wouldn't turn over. I left it for a day and then it started but ran awful, HUGE blue smoke, rough, noisy. I ran it a few times for an hour or so and it smoothed out a bit but still blur smoke big time when it started and seems to have a "rattle" (lifter?valve?) that it didnt have before . JD serviced it , advanced the timing of the fuel pump, they said. I wasn't satisfied, they did it again and pronounced the tractor to be "normal" for a 2720. I neglected to tell them about the upset incident ( no visible damage, didnt want to void wrrty).
In any case, it still smokes too much and for too long (in my opinion) when started cold, and it still has this rattle which was not present before. It's more noticeable to me at higher rpm than at idle. No smoke when it starts warm, just the rattle (which JD svc says is normal). However, I am certain it is a result of the upset, anybody got any ideas?
