They sure are!
Even with just 19 HP (16.5 at the PTO), this little engine is a worker! I've yet to run out of power, but lack of traction can be a problem. And it sure is frugal with diesel fuel too!
Of course, one of my pipe dreams is putting that 770 engine in my tractor (if I could find a good used engine). Same frame..maybe different engine mounts and definitely a different injection pump. But it would be a doable project if I ever need to replace the engine.
I did price out swapping to a dual stage clutch, but when the dollars got above $1500, I gave up on that idea. Can't really say I miss having a dual stage. About the only thing I have to accomodate is when I'm finish mowing, I may have to back over areas where I'd clutched for a turn or shifted a gear. The inertia of the rotary cutter blades is enough that clutching is no problem...no problem with loader work either.
