Purchased a lightly used Smittybilt 10,000lb winch on CL for an excellent price. Seller threw in nice receiver mount and 24’ Smittybuilt winch quick wiring system.
Plan is a front bumper mount, not a portable receiver, so a bumper mounting bracket will need to be ordered between frame & bumper. Should be here in 10 days.
Looking for tips & suggestions on concealed mount versus top mount and any other suggestions. I’m favoring the conceal mount for protection. The lights have been removed.

What people do over here will usually do, and it depends on the bumper design, is mounting the winch inside the bumper so the fairlead comes out behind the license plate. Then the license plate just folds up so cable can be pulled or some will move the license plate to the side.

We can't legally have the winch protruding outside the bumper.

Some examples on a Mitsubishi Pajero or Montero in the US, I believe.

Very nice, time to get some mud on the tires and see if it works. Kind of sounds like a country song.

That turned out very nice. I've never had an "in bumper" mount on any of my Jeeps. Always on top of the bumper. I've got an in the bumper Warn winch on the Taco Wagon. It's a different mount system - for sure.

I strongly recommend you rewrap that winch line before you use it, it does not look properly wrap, when the winches get that big, you need to tie them to a tree with some tension on them, other wise you can jam it up bad on a hard pull

Slick setup, nice install! That should pull you right over the curbs at the mall with ease. ;)
