You may be right.
I am thinking about doing a pretty crude test:
1. Stuff more air in the engine (turbo)
2. Stuff more fuel in the engine (injector pump adjustment)

My thinking is that if you do #1 and #2 more power should result. I also think that higher exhaust temperatures will be seen. I am concerned about having the fuel still burning when the exhaust valve starts to open and overheating the exhaust valve.

Maybe my thinking is off...I talked to one of my friends last night and he thought that just putting on the turbo alone (no injection pump adjustments) would add about 10 HP to my engine.

What do you guys think?

dan adding the turbo only will add you LOTS of heat and lots of lean burning.. not much added power

That's what I think as well.
Tommy said he would send me a bad injection pump. I gave him my address on Tuesday. I hope to get the pump next week then I will take it to a diesel pump guy who had rebuilt my pumps (chevy 6.2 dsl) in the past and see what he can make of it, before I take it apart.

This will be one cool project...

This will probably be the dumbest question ever posted on this site.....but where do I find the owners forum? Isn't THIS the chinese owners forum? or is there another general forum that you are talking about?

he is referring to the ctoa it is a different site, they only deal with Chinese tractors, but the man to talk to is tat2z1969 he is a diesel mechanic and works these engines

I don't consider any question, too dumb, Dan. It is the questions that are not asked, that get a lot of people into trouble down the road, when they have to learn the hard way.



This is the site that I was referring to. It is a free site, but it is a Chinese Tractor Owners Forum. We are all just ordanary tractor owners, that just happen to own Chinese Tractors, mainly because they cost a lot less than other well know tractor brand names.

Hi everyone!
I took the Jinma engine apart yesterday. The head gasket leak got so bad that I couldn't drive it anymore.

I just put 7 pictures on "My Gallery" of what it looks like.

It took an hour and five minutes to get the head off and on the bench from when I opened the hood.

The engine looks really good, I can clearly see the hone marks on the cylinder walls.

Hi everyone,
I thought I would give you an update on the Mazda / Jinma.
I got the head back on with a new head gasket. However the leak is still there. I really don't know where it is coming from. It's not as bad as before and I am driving it every day.

I now have 13,000 miles on it.

Just a word of warning, if any of you take the head off of your Jinma (Yangdong). After removing the head gasket material from the top of the block DO NOT ROTATE THE CRANKSHAFT without holding the cylinder linings down! The liners will come right up with the pistons. Thank goodness I had drained the coolent from the whole block when I did mine. I wanted to de-carbon the tops of the pistons so I rotated the crankshaft to bring the pistons to TDC, what a shock when the liners came up out of the block!

Anyway, I plan to continue driving the dickens out of the Mazda / Jinma for the summer, this Winter I may pull the head off again and see if I can find the head leak.

Any ideas you guys may have would help.
