Re: Jim\'s new projects

Thanks, I like it so far...

Here's a pic of the little guy in his new home after a hard days work down at the flying field.

Sorry for the dust on the lens, I didn't know it was there until after I opened the pic on my computer. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Great idea!

I better put the concrete floor in first though, otherwise the PT will have dirty feet all the time /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

PS: Don't tell him he has to share the barn with the truck /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Re: Jim\'s new projects

Do any of you have any experience with layering 2A Modified stone? How thick can I go with it and keep a stable base?

Re: Jim\'s new projects

Well, I finally found the stone to put on the front of the pole barn. It is actually a stone veneer that is colored and made of concrete.

I am thinking it will take 3-4 weeks to get the order in. Of course the PT pallet forks will do the hauling around of the boxes.

Re: Jim\'s new projects

I know it has been a little while, but I am finally back at it! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I plan on spreading the gravel for the concrete floor tonight and tamping it down. We'll be pouring the floor on Monday. If I have time, I need to dig out some of the dirt on the right side of the building to make the parking space wider for the RV. Then I'll spread some stone for a base to park on.

Pictures to follow this weekend.

Re: Jim\'s new projects

I finally collected enough funds to start laying the stone base down in preperation for pouring the concrete floor.

I used the PT with the large bucket to bring the stone in the building and had a friend rake it level. Then the concrete guy tamped it with his power tamper.

The 425 maneuvers around inside that building with ease! I am always amazed at how tight a radius this thing has! Anyway, we spread and tamped 4" of stone for the main building this morning. It took about 3 hours until I ran out of stone. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Jim\'s new projects

Then we had another 25 tons delivered...

I still need to cut back some more of the hill so I can make a nice parking spot for my RV.

(later project....)
