Popped off my loader on the jinma 224 the other day (that was an ordeal... those kickstands dont work for crap) to finally adjust the clutch that had been slipping under load.

Found not only a poorly adjusted clutch... but two quarts of oil sitting in the bottom of the bell housing, nicely splash lubricating the whole clutch pack. Not great, im kind of amazed it moved at all with that much slip and slide oil in the bell housing

So, looks like im splitting the thing. Figure i might as well get some other stuff done if im going to split it.

Things i have on my list:

1) Main rear seal
2) bell housing gasket
3) flywheel housing gasket
4) clutch discs (have both pto and normal discs and alignment tool from Tommy)
5) New bolts to replace chinese bolts
6) new roll pins? not sure of the size
7) Front drive shaft checkup? Im pretty sure the previous owner trashed the 4 wheel drive, but ive never needed it/checked

Anything im missing that i should look at? I dont plan to split this again for a long time, and dont want to miss anything.

Sorry about the clutch. As for your kickstand. Don't feel bad. It probably works better then the one on my Deere!

Yep, well familiar with your guide, as edited by me a couple years back :D

Had a bunch of family stuff that came up, and basically the tractor went unused until now, so im back to the old problems.

I think even if i crank down the bell housing bolts and it stops the "leak", i still have to split it, as the discs are oil soaked.

Well now you get a chance to put it to work!

The bolts that are most likely to cause a leak are the ones that hold the bell housing to the engine block. The bolts tend to stretch and the gasket between the engine block and the bell housing leaks. To get to them you have to take the flywheel off. So I don't think you're going to be able to stop the leak without splitting.

5) New bolts to replace chinese bolts
Plan on running a bottoming tap in the holes and blow the crap out of it afterward, make sure to clean it good, degreased as well. If I remember right, you can go longer as well. Use gr10.9 bolts and 10.9 flat washers as well along with Blue Loctite, no lockwashers

6) new roll pins? not sure of the size
Go with 5/16 gr8 bolts and locknuts, has to be drilled out slightly bit you don't have to worry about it. Just make sure it's only the shank of the bolt in the arm and shaft, if you have any amount of thread in there it'll eventually flatten out.

7) Front drive shaft checkup? Im pretty sure the previous owner trashed the 4 wheel drive, but ive never needed it/checked.
Might have just lost the balls out of the coupling. I think they're 10mm but don't quote me on it. I lost one of mine when I split my tractor and I bought them at a local bearing shop.

10) pilot bearing, you'll need a blind puller or else use the grease trick and a right size piece of bar.

Made a set for mine from 2 pieces of tubing that went where the angles went, joined at the bottom with a piece of pipe that sat on the ground. Also made a set of extension hoses so I was able to separate the machine and loader far enough.............Mike

looked through my spare parts today, and I have most the gear thankfully.

80x100x12 rear main seal
1X 360111 clutch throw out bearing
1x Bell housing gasket 180.21.110 (cardboard piece of junk....)
1x Flywheel housing gasket Y380
1x 6203-Z pilot bearing (it looks like this might be for a 300 series jinma? Do i need the 60203 listed for the 200 series?) they look identical in images.

Will have to pick up the bolts, and roll pin (grade 8 bolt instead maybe?)

can someone advise me on what replacement bolts i need?

I went off this photo guide: Jinma 284LE Tractor Split by JustKrazy1 | Photobucket

and ordered these:

6733 Metric hex bolts, Zinc plated class 10.9 steel, 8mm x 1.25mm x 40mm 10 pcs $0.38 $3.80
6737 Metric hex bolts, Zinc plated class 10.9 steel, 8mm x 1.25mm x 60mm 10 pcs $0.49 $4.90
6749 Metric hex bolts, Zinc plated class 10.9 steel, 10mm x 1.5mm x 40mm 10 pcs $0.55 $5.50
6752 Metric hex bolts, Zinc plated class 10.9 steel, 10mm x 1.5mm x 55mm 10 pcs $0.69 $6.90
7742 Metric flat washers, Zinc plated class 10.9 steel, 8mm 20 pcs $0.09 $1.80
7743 Metric flat washers, Zinc plated class 10.9 steel, 10mm 20 pcs

But it seems thats not enough bolts, as the bell housing itself has 16? Are some of them different sizes?
