RAy,
There are two places for the leak to happen, if it is the rear seal, the oil will be coming from inside the bellhousing. If it is the gasket between the bellhousing and the engine block, the oil will be leaking from just in front of the bellhousing.
The bad news is to properly fix either will require the tractor be split, flywheel be removed and if necessary remove the bellhousing and repair the gasket/and or seal...
It is really not as bad as it sounds if you have a couple floor jacks some jack stands and maybe an engine hoist...
