I have seen several people that have changed the mechanical feed belt with a Gates PowerRated 6838 belt. Wondering if anyone knows of the Gates part number for the main drive, or if it even needs to be replaced?

These are Dayco Numbers.
Always use an industrial belt.
L544 times 5
L438 times 1
I serviced a new chipper today that the customer requested that I go ahead and replace the belts with US belts. Replace now or later.

Thanks Ronald. I assume the L438 is the belt for the feed roller.

The numbers can be crossed to other MFD's of belts.
While the feed roller belt is off........ it would be a good time to check the set screws in the pulleys.
