IF you have A WELDER!!Fill it (with weld) drill it and re-tap it, no big deal. <snip>
Sorry, but there are some things which seem to be assumed on TBN. We don't ALL have welders and getting equipment to a welder when you are out in the sticks can be a royal pain for small things. And probably many of those that do have welders have little welders that can't do thick metal.
Luckily I was able to buy an Everlast PA300 so I can probably do it now.
I could have went to the local box store and bought a gasoline powered chipper that would maybe run some twigs (I don't consider the box store chippers to have much capacity, a 5 horse motor don't have much grunt in the first place) for 600 bucks or buy somthing that runs PTO power for a couple grand, but this one appeared on CL one morning so I grabbed it.
You don't find many used ones. That tells me that while they might not be perfect, they do the job so owners don't sell them.
Tell me about it.
I searched for months, maybe a year for a PTO chipper and all I found were as expensive as my 8" Jinma new. Then right after I prepared to pick up my new chipper I found a "used" one for sale that the guy had burnt/broken all the belts off, but that was the only one.
