John Deere 110 Compact TLB

Lol. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif I just have to laugh! I have just now read all of these posts waiting on poor Tags to get his tractor. It's like a comedy of errors. But I think it will have a happy ending.

Well guess what? Let me throw something in that will surely interest. I think I actually SAW one of your tractors. /w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif Perhaps it was Bushy's. Last week I was in Statesboro, GA on our farm. On a dirt road between Portal, GA there was a tractor trailer parked where I see it regularly. Right in front of the driver's house. Actually, two. One had 4 brand new small JD green tractors for delivery. The other had a yellow machine that I had never seen before, did not know existed. This was like last Friday night of Memorial Day weekend. It said 110 I think. I love backhoes, having just had a nice JCB 214 Series III with all the goodies, and have been looking for another one, perhaps a smaller machine for yard work like an L48. I see this brand new Deere. It was amazing!! It was beautiful, it was just right!! Not too big, not too small! /w3tcompact/icons/love.gif Like the bear's bed, JUST RIGHT! Well, lol, just like my buddy Tags, I practically couldn't sleep that night either! The next morning I drove back by with my daughter. The trailers were still there. I wanted to go up to the house and ask the driver if I could get up on it, but I didn't want to bother him. We just looked in wonder without getting out. Later I drove by during the weekend, where it peacefully sat the whole time we where there. In fact, we didn't leave until Tuesday morning, the 28th, and I think it was still there. I took some pictures with the digital. (May try to post later) Monday, I went to local John Deere ag dealer. (the only JD dealer around) He wasn't familiar with the little tractor but got me some prices. Blanchard Equipment, Statesboro, GA. Now, gentlemen, get ready to get mad. /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif He quoted around $32-34, the high being with MP bucket, which is invaluable on a farm. I had asked him to trim it down to a good selling price without hassle. I guess he did. So, I am happy, and I know some folks are pretty upset. No, I have not ordered yet. We don't have a computer down there, and I wondered if anyone had discovered this tractor on this wonderful site yet. Obviously, Tag and Bushy have! I wanted to find out all I could first.

I think its great that you guys have been making the kind of input you have here. I have really enjoyed it.

So, do you think that was your tractor Bushy? It was a beauty. I guess the driver had to have some R&R with his family out in the country before making the long haul. I am going to find out his name and find out where it went to. BTW, Augusta is only about one hour to his house. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

I ordered the 110 on March 9th, 2002. I feel bad for anyone that is still waiting for their machine. The dealer I dealt with was Widrick Implement Inc. I want to believe that it was my machine though I was told there were two other tractor on the same trailer destine to southern NY. My dealer is south of Watertown and thats almost to Canada. The dealer is located in Burville NY. The dealer's name is Widrick Implement Inc. If I had this info last weekend I would have been pressing you for the driver's phone number and directions to his house. Anyway I've got it here now. Feel kind bad for those that don't. Bushy

I'm not sure if you know how this works or not,but some feedback on the machine would be an excellent start,don't get me wrong pictures are great,but how does she run?????I have been checkin' back here every free second I've had (my wife has now concluded that I am a total nutball and thinks I'd rather be with a machine than her,but thats a whole other story...) and no updates,c'mon man,I need my tractor fix,hows it goin',hows your baby treatin' ya?????!!!!!!

P.S.
I have NO idea how to load a picture but would love to find out,I'm gonna try checking the FAQ.

Bushy thanks for the prompt reply. I'll be talking to the salesman Monday morning. Let us know how it's running. If it's a dog I want to bail out now, but I doubt it. The salesman has had owners of 4600 and 4700 try the demo out while they had it on the lot they said the hydraulics were much more smoother than the green ones.

That was inconsiderate off me. Well, great visability from the seat. I moved around 50yds of dirt, some of which was clay, no problem.

Grading; I seem to be able to see the front corner of the bucket ,so I can get right up close to trees,shed and any obsticals. The transmission is great in "A'' [low] range you have a great deal of control with the loader.

Rough ground has never felt so good. At first I didn't think the loader had any B's but it does. I was tilting the cutting edge into the ground when trying to scoop a piled of dirt and it would not lift but under this condition it had good roll back break out force. Remember I'm on clay. Then I remembered to keep my eye on the step on the bucket. Keeping this parallel to the ground no problem lifting.

Pushing dirt is effortless. Very agile moving around. This is due to three things; visability, smooth transmission [ inch yourself along and still have all the power you need] and Great traction.

I'll post this and start another one so you have a little something to read. Bushy

Second half: The backhoe is smooth as a baby's bottom once I learned how too. I've only had machines with multible controls. I cleaned out an old ditch. I had to straddle it and under the mud was flat rock. The hoe is very responsive, as soon as I heard the rock, like fingernails on a black board I ajusted and still able to clean it bare. That little switch [control to reposition switch] that inches you forward or backward, that I never though would be useful, well guess what? It is. That works great.

The hoe is so user friendly that I've allowed my seven year old to operate it, [ in 20 years of owning two hoes I have never allowed any one on my machines for fear that they would screw them up] And he does very well with it.

I recieved the 110 Friday, it was raining cats and dog but that didn't stop me. I've washed it 6 times. Does very well on wet loose clay. No comparison to my old 4500, which I though was a pretty good machine regarding traction. I worked several hours on wet ground. It seems to have excellent traction with the front wheels on the ground. Used the possy traction a couple of times to push my way threw.

She'll climb right up on the pile if you want, while turning. No problem and I'm not talking about when using the possy. There're no more backing up a country mile to dump say when you are mixing up some top soil. That loader sticks out enough to get it filled at the base of a pile lift the load turn and dump.

It's hard to describe everything though it is a great machine. I have you to thank for encourging me [wheather or not you know it] when I was discourged about delivery.

Good road speed and comfort that is in ''c'' range and you let off on that pedal and you come to a halt quick. Remember to feather that!!!

It's nice to be out of the sun under the big top. As I mentioned, Friday it was raining hard. At one angle it wasn't too bad but when I turned in to the wind the water just rolled off the roof. I got a bit wet. That aought to keep you for a while. Ask me a specific question. I'll try to answer. Bushy

I've been driving around to and from the dirt piles this weekend and even the guys on the Harley's were looking. Sounds good and looks great ,isn't that what its about? Image!!!! Everyone that saw the tractor and I talked to commented that it is a great looking machine.

If you have any say on how they chain it down when they deliver it to you, remind them that there are towing loops under the machine.

The guy trucking my machine had a chain rapped around the bottom swing pin area. It made my stomach flip and when I pointed it out he just gave me a ''well'' and left it. I called the dealer and told him.. The chain scraped the paint off and left dents. That hurt!!!! On the front he had it rapped around the loader linkage. That hurt too... Especially when there is a great big thick masive loop right up front. A loop that I always wanted!!!

The dealer gave me an oil filter 5 quarts of oil, two transmission filters and two cans of paint, black and yellow. This was when I was doing the paper work nothing to do with how they had the chain rapped around the tractor. For that they will have to do something pretty special for me to forgive such a mistake.

I can't wait to use the 110 under normal conditions. Dry ground. One thing I noticed while digging in the piled dirt, with the loader, next to mowwed lawn. Ther were no tire spin marks. I do not recall being able to see the rear tires from the seat under way. I used the possy [differential lock] due to the absents of forward movement. This was with bucket down on greasy land. She moved right into the work.

Tags, you are going to love the transmission, so it is best you tell your wife rigth now. I figure that I'll be right at home when the cold winds blow with a cab enclosure, for that winter snow plowing. Even if I have to get the local boat canvas maker to sitch me up a little cab. Bushy

Ok..........I'm real glad that JD isn't in the business of shipping human organs for transplant,cause if they were I'd be dead,buried,and half decomposed by now!!!Right now I envy everybody with a tractor,even you there,yes you, with the riding lawn mower,at least you have it.As you could guess I did not get the "Phantom" today,nor will I have it tomorrow,or the next day either......my wonderful salesman called today to tell me it wasn't shipped last week as promised,but it should have been shipped today and they have "a good feeling" that it'll be here on thursday (insert laughter here).I have one thing to say about John Deere and I think some will agree:<font color=red>THEY SUCK AT LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!</font color=red>

Tags,,, Any word on the dream machine. I know that this is extremely bothersome, frustrating and it can really make you angery. If you can, remember that you are getting a really good product.
I ordered my 110 on March 9th, had my old stuff sitting on their sales lot for 6 weeks, so I can relate to the waiting. There were times when I wanted to back out of the deal though at this time I can see and say that I would of lost out on a great machine.

I've wanted to take the backhoe off to familarize myself with the process but am reluctant being new and all. I feel like I'm messing with perfection. In time I'll get over my phobia.

Do you have any idea whether or not tractors come from the factory with hours on the meter, cause mine had 3.2 hours on it when I frist saw it May 31,02?

When I was waiting for my 110 I looked forward to getting on here to see what activity there was. It amazes me, how powerful, having information is. Don't jump out the window! Bushy
