Hmm I'm pretty sure #10 on the diagram is what the key goes directly into, not sure what you mean? Maybe you were looking at #9 below it which is the light switch?

Well ill just have to print off the diagram and take it with me next time i get a chance to look at it. But i got some pretty bad news just a min ago, my friend just went out to start it with both the new batteries, and it was just barely turning over is what im pretty sure the voicemail said, and unfortunately i deleted it. So most likely, ill have to go in and get a new starter.
