Hi guys, by any chance do you have the hydraulics scheme for a JD 2130? I found some schemes for the 2140, but couldn't find any for the 2130. I have some hyd issues and I need the scheme. Basically my hyds work fine when I add oil to the top reservoir but quit working soon, because there is no oil getting to the top reservoir. I think I have some trans pump issues, but I don't know. I already checked the filter bypass valve and the hyd filter and they seem to be fine, I also checked the outside tubing and it is ok.

Welcome to TBN
Basically nearly all AG JD utility tractors built between 1965 & 1994 has the same hyd systems except the few early models. 2140 hyd schematic should fine for your 2130. Your tractor probably has an internal hyd leak. After operating a little while check hyd control valves for higher temp than other valves.

Remove plate over shiftcover. On R_side you will find 2 testports. The front one you must get pressure as in more than 10 Bar and at the rear one almost the same .
I do beliefe you will get nothing at the rear plug because you get nothing upfront.
Remove shiftcover and check if steelpipes is ok.

Thank you both. I'll see what I can do. Someone told me that it could be the main pump, but I do not believe that, because if I add oil to the top reservoir, the hydraulics work perfectly.

Then you have 2 hydraulic sistemes in your tractor .
1. The lowpressuresisteme working your IPTO(if equeped) 4x4(if not mecanical)and hi-lo.
These sistemes is supplied by a gearpump and is a open sentresisteem.
2. That gearpump also supply the closesentre( mainpump)to supply pressure and flow to the powersteering(if equeped) and to the lift and externals(couplers at the back)

It sounds to my that you have a break between that 2 sisteems ?
Everything FROM the mainpump you can plug with a 3 000 psi gauge to test if that is your probleme.
For instants...if you plug the steering and all other starts to work ...then you know your steering is the problem.

I'll add to what DLT stated these type power steering valves have a long history of failed o-rings causing hyd problems. My comment to "the someone that stated that main pump was faulty" over the yrs many hyd pumps have been replaced only to determine the replaced pump wasn't the hyd problem. Closed center hyd's such as your tractor that have hyd problems require ""good diagnostic procedures not parts replacers""

"good diagnostic procedures not parts replacers"" Before you start strippng is key on these tractors !

Transmission pump supplies front pump.
On my 2030 the PTO clutch supply tube (internal) broke. When the PTO was engaged the broken tube was the source of a massive internal leak, starving the front pump.

On my 2030 the main traction clutch's pressure plate is splined to drive the transmission pump. About ten years later (since repair of PTO clutch supply tube), the splines in the pressure plate stripped and transmission pump quit. I thought an internal tube failed and did a split. All internal tubes where OK. Then I did a clutch side split and found the bad pressure plate.

If your transmission filter cover has port, you can hook up a hose and run the hose to bucket. The transmission pump puts out (IIRC) about 6gpm at 1500rpm. Simple test if you have the ported filter cover.

I did notice a small power steering leak, at the bottom cover (in front of the shift lever, above the brake pedal, at the botton of the steering column basically). Could a small power steering leak stop the hyds from working? If so how can I cancel the powersteering (do i just plug the line at the flow divider?) I think it only leaks if I turn the steering wheel, but when I get the chance I will test.

I think a small external leak won't affect hyd performance. I suggest to isolate power steering from hyd system by disconnecting PS supply line(item 9) & cap fitting at pink slash mark to check if power steering is the hyd problem

In 2019 I had a JD1140 with a lot of problems
1. I had to replace the mainpump. It was shot and in pieces.
2. I had to overhaul the powersteering. All 6 o-rings was blown.
3. I had to repair the 4x4. Did not release the inside clutch.
4. The PTO pack was worn and I had to teplace the plates inside.
5. I had to replace all the seals inside the hidge.
6. Then the external valve was also shot .
Then and only then everything tested ok !

Hi guys. Today I got to see the tractor again. I think I might have the Hi Lo unit (but the dash lever is missing, second photo). If the Hi Lo is broken, could this also cause loss of hydraulics (no oil returning to the auxilliary tank). Thr third photo shows where the small leak is located (that cover with screws).IMG_20200501_110828.jpegIMG_20200501_110838.jpegIMG_20200501_110915.jpegIMG_20200501_110927.jpegIMG_20200501_110950_1.jpeg

The hi-lo is one of the low pressure funtions that works from the gearbox pump. The others wil be 4x4 and IPTO.
There wil be testports for them ...all on the shiftcover.
U need to fit gauges on that testports and test them one at a time by starting your tractos and engageing and disengageing those funtions and noting down there pressures. In the hi-lo you have to note down the hi pressure and the lo pressure.
The same with the IPTO and...

And to think all the yrs I thought JD utility tractors hyd systems of this era on tractors built for sales in N america were complicated. The hyd's on JD tractors I'm acquainted with won't come close to be as complicated as their European cousins.

May I ask the function of the rectangular valve body in the photo? It resembles a valve body on tractor with open center hyd's.
Thanks,Jim

I do not know that valve ! My gues is that the tractor is equeped with a trailer brake sisteeme and that thin pipes is connected to the brakemaster silinder ?

Thank you very much, for the help!
The 3140 hyd scheme looks almost identical to the 2140 one that I found online.

Ding-Ding I think you're the winner. I see a pipe attached from valve in question to brake valve.
