John Deere 2305 PTO Slipping Under Load

jd110 Im not sure if they have a Dyno or not but I will certainly ask him that on my next trip.
Davkir, would a problem with the PTO brake make the shaft slip like it is also? The Tiller does shut off pretty quick after I disengage the PTO switch but It does seem to spin a little more than it used to with my mowing deck attached.
Also could there be a problem with my Tranny fan thats causing the heat to build and cause the slipping? Ive read that the fans can be a problem on the 2305.

The brake and clutch discs are all part of the same assembly and controlled by the same valve.
The fan could be a problem also. It's easy to check and make sure it is attached to the driveshaft and all of the blades are intact. The transmission housing should be relatively clean also to help cooling.

Make sure you try to turn the tranny fan by hand. We've seen some case where the fan look fine but the spline were strip and the fan was slipping on the shaft.

My warranty says Utility and subcompact Utility tractors have the powertrain covered for 3 years or 2000 hours.. This includes Powertrain: hydrostatic transission, transmission case, differencial and axle housing, clutch housings and all parts contained therein (does not include extarnal drivelines, dry clutch parts or steering cylinders)
My local service manager told me the 3 year covered only electrical problems, which after reading the warranty it does not..
If my PTO clutch plates or brake are damaged does this count as part of the powertrain and are they covered by my 3 year 2000 warranty?

My clutch plates are wet disc.. what do they mean by dry clutch parts?

Some tractors use a dry clutch similar to those found in cars and trucks. The 2305 does not.
The warranty probably has some generic language in it so it can be used with several different models.
The bottom line is, the only way to find out if your problem is covered is to sit down with your dealer and a factory rep. if necessary and discuss your situation.
Good Luck.

Hi Nike and thanks for the input,
Its Hydrolic and the fluid was just changed.. That was part of the 200Hr maintenance I just had done when I took it in to the shop.

First thought I had was is the fluid level in the hydrostat correct? Did they clean the suction screen?
