Well it's still burning a real big hole in my head, and the last thing I need is another hole! At the risk of being a pain here are some photos I took when I looked over the tractor.

It's most likely already gone, as another buyer was interested, but since it was my very first attempt to buy/judge a tractor I thought I might get something out of the experience, for the next time around.

Here are three pictures of the tractor. From talking to the owner I beleive the tractor had been used hard. The stand for the 200CX loader was crumpled backward on both sides, and the very front of the frame (cross piece) was bent inward. The owner said while the bucket was raised and the tractor going forward a stump was hit. I highlighted those spots with the yellow arrows.
If needed I priced a new stand for approx $250, the frame repair if needed would I think require cutting the cross piece out since it's welded and a new piece welded in.

The engine started and sounded strong.
The tractor was moved backward and forward.
I operated the FEL up and down and moved the bucket.
I pushed the bucket downward enough to lift the tractor up. (is that any kind of test?)
The 3PH moved up and down.
The inside of the cab looked ok, but needed cleaning.
There is no rubber on any of the pedals (not sure if they come with any)
The add-on soft cab was in great shape.
Tires had alot of tread left.

Also included was a model 260 BH that was under a tarp in the snow. I peeked under the tarp and it too looked like it too had been worked hard. I noticed a homemade repair to one long hydro hose, something that I would have need to replace immediately.
I also noticed a 5gal, can of fluid and asked if there were leaks. I was told the 260BH has one piston that had a small leak when fully extended. The repair apparently requires dissembling the piston to replace a seal. Sounds like a PIA to do. The price was under $13,000. Not sure what else I could have checked other than the lighting.

I think it was a good buy, but worry about my beleif that it was worked hard.

You also want to try the all wheel drive and make sure it does engage and work. Make sure there is no grinding noise while driving it in that position. Same goes for the rear lock wheel. Also, engage the PTO and check them in all 3 position. There are no rubbers on the pedales.

See, now I feel a little dumb. We're just a bunch of old rednecks. We refer to them as belly mowers.;-)

Belly Mower?:confused2: Just how darn hairy is your belly that you feel the need to mow it?:p:laughing:
