Hello

I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times on this forum but I can't find it. I want to install a power beyond for my tractor. Deere wants over 500 dollars for a kit. Just the kit, install is more. Just a simple hydraulic outlet and return for a small back hoe. Any ideas for a less costly alternative?

Thanks.

You can do it yourself, you will need the hoses, fittings, QD's, and the "plug" (#23) that goes into the SCV spacer block. The JD part number is BLV10381 for the entire kit, and is closer to $400 at many places, not over $500.

This thread has some details on the parts, it's the same as your 2320 needs even though it's about a 2520.

Do you have a loader? If so how many hoses on the loader valve, 6 or 7?

7 and your loader valve has power beyond perhaps feeding the 3 pt hitch.

Will your backhoe be mounted on the 3 pt hitch or on a sub frame?

The loader valves are attached directly to the tranny case and most of the JD sCUT and CUT machines, so there are no hoses feeding them like on remotely mounted valves.

Have a loader with 4 hoses to it. I would like to mount it on the 3 point but I understand this can be a problem due to the weight. Looking for a light duty hoe that is comparatively light. Some of the adds I see are claiming you don't need a sub frame with their units.
Thanks

The backhoe company doesn't have to pay for repairs if their 3pt backhoe damages your tractor. It's not the weight of the backhoe that is the problem, it's the forces that the backhoe puts on the hitch. The 3pt hitch is designed to pull implements through the ground and to lift implements up. It's not designed for implements that can lift up the tractor or push on it with thousands of pounds of force.

I've not seen any 'light duty' 3pt BHs that have significantly less digging force than the official manufacturer ones. If they did they'd be lacking digging ability.

Messicks did a video on 3pt backhoes a while back. They said they see a few machines a year that have been damaged by 3pt backhoes.

If you get a 3pt backhoe anyhow, make sure it has braces from the lower 3pt arms to the upper one that replaces the top link. The braces prevent the backhoe from pushing the 3pt linkage up and possibly hurting the operator.

I got a used Branson (actually made by Ansung) backhoe from my dealer, with the subframe for my tractor. It cost less than most of the Chinese 3pt backhoes.

The 2320 has an aluminum tranny case, you don't want to mount a 3PH hoe to that!
