Growing up in Wisconsin, a local RV dealer had a 755 that he used to move his trailers around the lot. The 755 is about the same size as a 2520, with probably a little less 3 pt hitch capacity. I would guess that a 2520 could handle the duty, as long as your not trying to move it too fast. That much weight, should you lose traction at all, could move you and your tractor in a hurry. Slowly, on hard survaces, I think you would be ok.

ok, just bought my 2520,

am I just stupid, or is there a flaw in the front wheels of the 62D mower deck??!?!?

I've only logged about 10 hours on the thing, and cut my grass twice, but I cannot get the front wheels on the mower to stop tearing up my yard, especially when changing directions...

i've set them high, set them low... what gives??? any help would be appriciated... seems they turn sideways, then scrape the **** out of the yard before getting situated for forward mowing...

oh, also, my other "con" I have mower and loader, and there are not enough hydraulics for both, when you have the lift kit installed... I plan on a diverter valve to fix this though...

otherwise... LOVE the 2520 for my 5 acres of cutting...

The front wheels are not supposed to always be in contact with the ground during normal operation. Set the mower deck to the proper cutting height. While on level surface the wheels are set a quarter to half an inch from the ground. This allows the wheels to only touch when going over unlevel ground. They act as an anti scalp device.

yeah, I have tried that, but when you go in reverse the wheels hit slightly and turn around, then when going forward again (especially when turning) they seem to hit the ground sideways, and rip up the yard...

I think they should have been designed more rounded, instead of flat, so if they did hit sideways it would force them to spin straight more quickly

Exactly right.
The JD decks are designed to hang - not roll on the wheels.
I actually go more than the 1/4" free space under the gauge wheels.

Lubrication,

I noted that the front wheels on the 62d MMM do not have grease fittings for the upright wheel shafts (the wheels do but not the shafts). I took mine apart and lubricated. I noticed a great improvement in movement and they hardly ever dig in now.
