What I did to keep from having the chains rub on the links holding the 3 pt arms was position the pins on my implements to the inside..... Only drawback is having to adjust the linkage each time for both on and off when switching implements around. But since I don't change that often, it's something I can live with. Course I could have just done it on my rear blade since that's the only time I have chains on is winter. Haven't needed them yet for muddy situations going into the woods yet. I have R4's on my JD.
