Welcome from Minnesota.

depending on what year, i would check the fuel pump version.

at some point in time, it was revised to include an overflow line (rubber) that is routed to behind the muffler. the old version had a weep hole (and no hose) that if the pump leaked, would drip directly on to the muffler.

other than that, gas, oil and a battery.

Depending on the year and serial number, it could have the dreaded "plastic cam gear" (search these forums and google for TONS of info). Other than that they are an amazing machine. My 1996 has 1100 hours and runs and mows great. The cam gear DID fail on it last spring and that repair (at a Deere dealer) cost me around $1000 ...

I have a JD345 that I bought new 13 years ago with 600+ hours on it. The only problem I've had with it is the circuit board failed a couple of times. Other wise it's just been regular maintenance.

Looks like a lot of people spend more time boosting their thread count in new member introductions than actually reading the posts. Even if its in the wrong forum. I have had one for 12 years myself. Only problem I ever had was when I had to replace a circuit board. Most likely becuase I power washed it all the time hahha. Even still, it took 10 years for it to corrode

My mom has this exact problem with hers. I still gotta get over there and fix it before she needs it again in the spring. Other than that it has been pretty good except for the breaking the cheap plastic hood. She has only had it about a year though and bought it with about 650 hrs.

I just sold my 2004 GX345 after about 6 years. One of the best machines I have ever owned. I would never have sold it, but I needed a 4wd tractor.
