Hey guys,

I have read some posts about adding a 3rd function on the front end loader controls. I am purchasing a grapple and would obviously like to have all controls on my joystick. I have a 2009 JD 7130 with 600's loader. My biggest question is how can I incorporate my 3rd function buttons currently on my joystick? Are these buttons intended for a power beyond or electric over hydraulic kit such as WR Long. Any info would help. My rear hookups will be in use, so running long lines is not an option. Thanks for the info.

I looked at a video of the two buttons on top of the joystick. If they are momentary switches that aren't doing anything, I don't see why you couldn't use them to control a electric over hydraulic third function.

Doesn't Deere offer a kit, or are you thinking of plumbing your own 3rd function?

Does your tractor have a 3-spool mid mount loader valve? Seems like it would have if you already have the optional 3rd valve switch controls on the loader joystick.

If you do have the 3rd spool valve, you will need the optional hard lines for the series 600 loader as well.

Couple minutes looking over the mid-mount loader valve should tell you if the 3rd spool is there or not.

Is your joystick like drawing 1? Cap (key 8) is also available for a rocker switch, just not shown, but listed as part number R113182

Second drawing is electro 3rd function valve for a mid valve, that "stacks" as shown.

Third drawing is electro 3rd function valve for rear SCV stack.

I am not sure which of these might apply to your tractor.

You may be best served asking this of your dealer. Is this a std tractor or a premium tractor (you can tell by s/n prefix if not sure) if it starts w/ rw it is a premium. For the stacked mid valve (which would be appropriate for 7130 premium) the third function att will not include the proper wiring. Wiring need will all depend on how the tractor recieved its 2 function loader controls. A field installed 2 function loader control will most likely require a new joystick lever as that is what you will need to get the wiring, If the tractor already recieved a field installed 3rd function (as an assembly with all 3 valves), then all you need is the loader third function pipes, hoses, etc. If factory installed loader ready 2 function, then wiring should already exist plus the controls. This is al based on assuming you have Micv control valves (manual) instead of the Eicv controls (fully electronic). Eicv controls will require that you get with a dealer to set up the stepper motor and tell the tractor it has 3rd function. This is all pretty fresh in my mind as I just finished helping a gentleman with a premium 7130/741 loader adding a grapple. In this situation he had a tractor that came from the factory that was not loader ready (same vintage as yours). A field installed 2 function Micv loader kit was then installed at some point in its life. Deere has made the assumption in this case that if field installing 2 function loader controls on Micv that you have no intention of adding the 3rd function. Thus requiring the new joystick (even if switches are already there). Also if Micv there can be three more additional switches that can be used for whatever you desire in an on/off aux. Good luck.

Here is a pic of another joystick example for outside the console Micv controls.
