John Deere 4066R Hydraulic issue. ***OWNERS AND PROSPECTIVE BUYERS BEWARE***

I was just wondering if you have heard anything more for john deere about the new loader control valve. I have a 4052r and it is doing the samething. Just finally got the dealer to believe me that there was a problem, they sent the technician out about two months ago. They agreed, " yup you have a problem", but didn't have an answer for me.

I haven't heard anything yet. I'm going to give the dealer a call within the next week or two. I'll let you know what they say. On the topic of hydraulic barking type noise, I thought this could be fluid going through the system relief valve? After further investigation. The owner of cross country trail ride in Eminance Missouri purchased a new 2015 4066M and has put more hours on his tractor than I have. Same loader issue. He was going to follow-up with the JD dealer. On the hydraulic noise - he verified the same barking type hydraulic noise on his tractor. I also drove a 2016 4052r on the dealers lot and heard the same noise. I'm reasonably sure this is noise is normal for the family 4 tractors with hydrostatic drive.

I have the same problem with my 3320 seems to get worse after running a while, I thought it might be trapped air in the system.

I am going to be looking at low hour used 4066R's. Is the best way to test for this as follows: Lay bucket flat on ground and roll bucket out to see if it can lift weight of tractor?

I wouldn't roll it. It should lift the front end easily with the bucket flat and lowering.

But the problem/complaint is that the curl circuit isn't allowing down pressure... Sooooo he probably will need to do that test.

Called the JD dealer twice over the past 4 weeks trying to get an update on the replacement loader valve. The dealer service manager seems to be frustrated with the JD factory regional rep. (Corry). I couldn't be more disappointed in JD. First denial when I told them about the problem, then after many calls the regional rep came to my place (took months) admitted there is a problem - told me JD is redesigning a new valve and would be available summer of 2016 - ask him about a recall - he said if the owner doesn't complain we won't take action "most people don't know how it should work" poor view of JD customers. Still no communication. Called 2 times over the past few weeks in Sept 2016 - still nothing. It's been nearly a year. Very frustrating!!

Yes, to test put bucket flat on ground and roll forward. Should raise the tractor. I would really look at a different brand. My first JD and much of my decision was based on hearing many brag about their JD products. It's not been my experience. I think most people don't like admitting they spent a lot of money and didn't get what they paid for. Don't be fooled by the green. Compare specifications and price, brand to brand. Let that drive your decision. I realize this sounds like a rant. See all my previous postings - they are objective and fact based. I've given up on JD doing the right thing.

Thank you for keeping this thread up. I've been having the same problem with my 4066. I will show this thread to my Deere service manager and get some parts coming! They better be widely available by now!

Is there any update on this issue? I have a meeting with a JD dealer about a used 4066R ( 66hrs) and would like to know if it has been resolved.
