Ok I split my backhoe again at the motor this time buy my clutch rod was one peace so I had to cut it. Just my luck I guess. I got my new drum and shaft and put everything back together and it moves forward now. Everything seems to be working ok until later today and I lost all my hydraulic pressure' Bucket won't go up or down and backhoe won't move so I checked the test port on the clutch control valve and had 0 psi so I let it sit and read some of my service manual and when back out and tried it again' I had pressure again 150.psi so I used it alittle more and I lost my pressure again. Any suggestions what to look at now. I'm hoping it's just a sticky valve or something and not the pump. I lost the pressure once and then it come back and I just lost it again.

When you say the backhoe won't move, do you mean the entire machine won't move forward or backward? Or that there is no pressure to the actual boom and dipper on the back of the tractor?

Yes It seems like I don't have any pressure. Won't move forward or backwards and no front loader or boom and dipper. It was there when I first started it and I tried it out and used it for a bit and shut it off to load some wood in the bucket' I started it up and no pressure' It was gone then all of a sudden 10 minutes it was back again

What would make me lose all my hydraulic pressure' There is nothing at the back port of the control valve on the side of the tranny. At that port isn't it suppose to have a constant pressure of about 165 psi

Seems like you don't have output from gear pump in transmission if you have no pressure anywhere. Possibly a pickup hose that fell off? How is your transmission oil level?

The gear pump is directly connected to the engine. A gear pump pretty much works or doesn't work. The only disconnect is the dry clutch. Intermittent pressure from gear pump is either fluid level related or there is a fault in reverser valve or oring failure. I'm leaning towards fluid level.

I can't see oring failure really because I bought all new oring and replaced them all in there and the fluid level is up to the last mark so it's full. I can't think of anything else other then tomorrow I'm going to drain the hydraulic fluid and pull the filters off and pull the sump screen out and check it to see if it sucked some old **** up from before that was still in the system. other then that I'm not sure what to check

It's possible the hyd filter relief valve is stuck open.

I think there is a relief valve in the reverser cntrl valve also. Might check that.

Jack; Re: front clutches and plates. Were the new ones flat or slightly concave? Did you find them after market? Were they expensive?
I am having the same problem with my 410. The steel ceiling rings are wore completely out.
