Yes that part has been failing since the late 90's. One would think JD engineers could determine a solution in 20+ years

OK, I'm getting around to replacing this switch on a 5045D 3-cyl. Everything is visible and looks easy but it's not. Take a look at the two pictures.
The radiator drain cock is blocked by the wire loom, so I loosened that and moved it out of the way. I wanted to attach a vinyl tubing to the drain outlet to catch some antifreeze in a jug, but it is near impossible to place a tube on there, either from above or below. The fluid splashes all over the place and I was afraid of the dog licking on it.
Where the switch/sensor is located it's easy to get a wrench on and loosen but there is a fuel line from the injector pump (return line?) in the way. Since the switch has the connector wiring attached the whole thing is swinging around and hitting the metal fuel line. I can't imagine screwing the new part in without busting something.
Have any of you replaced this item on the 2.9 liter turbo engine without running into these difficulties? This is a manufactured 2014 year model.
