John Deere B

I'm looking at buying a 1948 John Deere B tractor. It's a great deal and i was just wondering if it would be able to pull a 2 bottom 14 inch plow?

Sounds good. I wouldnt be in clay or rocks it's mostly sandyish soil. Heres some pics

I have no idea. I havent gone to see it in person yet. These are the pictures from the ad. Why do you ask?

Just curious. That is an older style tread pattern. Notice the unusually long chevrons. It's amazing, the number of variations of a simple tread.

Yeah i guess i didnt look that closely. So 1500 bucks sound like a good deal judging by the pictures?

Looks good. Listen for noise in the governor when you go to see it. Take it for a drive and listen for excessive gear noise. I like to check the drawbar for wear. That 's a pretty good indicator of how much work she's done.
