Hello- I have a John Deere 4520 tractor and I am looking for a bagger (or Material Collection System as they call it here under mowing - material collection systems) The only problem is that I haven't found a large picture to really take a good look at it. Does anyone have a picture they could share? Any comments whether it is good or bad? Thanks in advance! -bschmidtbauer

I have the smaller baggers (2 baggers) on my F525 frontmower and my 425 AWS garden tractor but they are pretty much the same system and they work really well I have never had a problem with regular mowing and leaf collection. They will clog in really tall grass and piles of leaves and tall wet grass or wet piles of leaves are a mess. The mesh bags wear out every 3 or 4 years for me. I have had to replace the blower housing once and need to do it again (since '95) where the bottom rubs on uneven ground. and the fan is starting to look like it could stand to be replaced. The drive belt breaks every two or three years. I found that I was picking up some dirt with the grass and leaves so I have switched to gator blades and mulch most of the season. I do think that the lawns look better when I bag. We get a fair amount of trash blowing into the yard and the bagger takes care of it. The bagger is way easier than raking leaves. When the leaves start to fall heavily the bags fill up quickly. I tried the gator blades with the bagger but with the old style 48"and 54" decks the gator blades blow too many leaves out. I even have the flange kits that are made to reduce blow out but the gators still blow too many leaves out. The gators do chop the leaves much finer so I get a lot more in the bags. When the leaves are falling heavy I switch to cart baggers.

I bought the 3 bag collection unit for my John Deere 757 commercial z rack. Be prepared to be empty some bags. I did my yard a couple weekends ago and I got 90 bags.

I have not seen a bagger on a 4520, but I bet they have one. What deck do you have on it?

Thanks for the responses. ddivinia- how big is your yard? I currently have the 72" 7-Iron Mid Mounting Mower and would be cutting about three acres a week. Anyway, thank you for the responses!

Around the house - 4 acres or so that i do with the z track. 180 acres total. I do more around the barn with the ztrack. Can get closer and not worry about putting a hole in the side of the barn.
