Which 2 sensors are you referring to? RE503242 & ?????
I already purchased the one sensor RE519144. Now I’ll have to get the other I’m not sure of the number just yet I assume it is the one you said. RE503242

Sensor in your photo is for speed/hour meter & if it failed engine will still start/operate but no engine rpm's or hours of use will be displaced on instrument panel.

Follow the wires from the TEMP. Sensor at the neck and unplug it..
It works thank you all !!!!!!!!
I’ll replace both of the sensors as soon as I can.
For anyone doing this in the future, it's the colder temps that made the fuse blow again. The disconnect wire thing only works until colder temps change the timing requirements and the fuses blow again. There are a zillion 5000 (and perhaps 4000, etc) series Deere with this exact setup so it's a common problem.

Very important here is to watch the torque on the bolt when installing the sending unit. It's only a couple ft lbs. Search my other threads or comments on this the for the exact number but I think 3 ft lbs.

This is extra important because you will snap the bolt or nut off and then you will have to buy the part a second time around.

Here's much earlier thread on this:

One mistake is that I said it advances timing when it actually retards it.

Also---Manual says.

Cold Start Advance Switch—
Torque .............................................................................. 5 N•m (3.5 lb-ft)

If you havnt done it. I would first check all your grounds. There cant be too many. Lots of tail chasing from bad grounds. Post what you find the problem was.

As with Rolandfelder, my 5000 was blowing a fuse when I turned the key to start, so I created this video. It shows what my sensor location looks like.

Thank you for confirming the problem. I was frustrated and received no help from any John Deere dealers. It’s working great now.
