I have the 14 bu. three bagger with Power Flow and we are now installing impeller number three in less then 8 hour run time . The first impeller was a factory mistake the second had a bunch of wear in 4 hours run time .
Now the dealer is going to put on one more ? Was told this morning JD went with the new impeller in around the year 2000 and a lot of problems ?? Anyone having the same luck ?

What part number are the impeller's being installed?

Any pics of the wear you are getting?

I really do not know the part number . The wear on this last one was a bending back of the inside blade tip (1/4 inch all four)all four and a thinning of the edge at that point . It looks like it has lost 20% of the materiel at the outside tip of the blade . It has about 4 hours run time . The Dealer had a new Power Flow used for ten hours and it was fine . I do not run the Power Flow that hard as it dose a nice job running at about 80/85% engine speed . I can not do pictures as the Power Flow is at the shop .

No problem with the impeller on my X324, and it has handled its share of small sticks and pine cones. I have had it for two years now.

If the impellor is rubbing that may well be the cause of your earlier problems with excessive loading of the tractor and over heating.

At any rate I went and looked my blower and all is good after about 5 years and about 100 hours of use.

It is not rubbing No reason for the wear after only 4 hours of run time .

There is a reason, just need to find what it is. ;)

When you can get some pics of a "bad" one, it would help diagnose from afar.

I'm on the same impeller (called a ROTOR by Deere) on my Power Flow since new in '97. Thought last year mine was wearing too much, so bought a new one (part M71340) but it didn't look much different in size and tip length so didn't change it out with the old one.
I maintain about 8 acres of wooded area so hickory shells, sticks, and walnuts are regular fare for this blower unit. Once in awhile, a stick stops it and requires removal, but not often.
Also, still on the original belt, but have a new backup just in case as this one is looking pretty marginal.

Got my Vacuum back today now one last (I hope) question please .
I thought I have been running the deck to close to the qround .
Today I set the deck at three inches and it did not do a good job .
Blew a lot out the left hand side and I had to go back over a bunch .
How low do you run the deck with a power Flow .
