Here's some pics. First one is the rear of my tractor showing the power beyond connections. The LH fitting is a quick connect. The hose then hooks to the shorter hose on the backhoe and the longer hose on the backhoe connects to the LH fitting. Top link comes off for the backhoe /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Another shot from above. The side links and lower arms also come off for the backhoe /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Here's a shot of the rear backhoe mount on the tractor. The backhoe has a crossbar that engages in this bracket. The crossbar has a "hickey" in it to clear the drawbar pocket area /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And finally for tonight is a shot of the front mount on the tractor. There are two, one on each side. This is the RH side, taken from in front of the rear tire. The latch is in the open position as it should be when installing the backhoe.

My backhoe is outside ( /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ) otherwise I'd snap some shots of it as well. I can do that tomorrow but it sounds like any differences you may have are on the tractor side of things. Hope this helps and as I mentioned I can scan some manual images tomorrow at work /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thank you very much for all of your efforts. I have downloaded the photos and information. I welcome anything else you may be able to offer, look forward to the balance of the information. I have located a manual for the 7 backhoe on Ebay. so the bidding now begins. That is the same place where I just bought the operator manual for the tractor. You have been a lot of help. By the way you said my tractor has the ROPS extensions , do you mean the added part to the stock roll bar?

Yes, the ROPS extensions are the added section towards the top of the roll bar. Without it you're sure to bang your head when getting on/off the backhoe. I have my manual with me today but am pretty busy. Hopefully, I'll have a chance to do some scanning later today. how does your Power Beyond hookup look versus mine?

My power beyond looks just like your, but instead of having a looped hose, both of my hoses connects to the what I guess I will call the auxiliary unit on the top of my left rear fender. From that I have an extended two female connections facing to the rear of the tractor. If I have the time this week end I will take a photo and post it.

OK kartvines, I'm going to try attaching scans of the installation process. This is from the operators manual.

From your description of your hoses, you must have an auxilary valve plumbed into the power beyond. Did your backhoe come with the tractor you have? If so, it's probably plumbed to work from the power beyond ports on that valve. You'll just have to look at the various connections and see what makes sense. It is a bit troubling that you would have two female connectors as you then have the possibility of plumbing it backwards. Not sure what that would do, but I wouldn't want to try it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well, my .pdf file is too big to attach. I'll find another way. If you send me your email via a private message I can email you the .pdf scan /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Rob

I just won another ebay book, the operator manual for the john Deere #7 backhoe. Is this the same book you have and are referring to? I must now pay for it and wait for it to be shipped. As far as if my backhoe attachment came with the tractor. I do not really know. I first bought the tractor, and then the backhoe from the same family, so it may have. I am taking an extra day off during this 3 day week end, so I will have more time to finish some of the project I need to get down, I will take a photo of the unit and then post it. Right now the hoes form the beyond power is linked to this unit.

That should be the same manual as what I have. I also have the parts manual which shows exploded views and all the part numbers. I think I have the hydraulics manual as well which goes into some troubleshooting and such. I suspect you'll be able to figure everything out. The only glitch you may have will be with that auxilary valve and I won't be of much help there. Some pictures will surely draw some help out of people more knowledgable than me /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
