Hey guys. Joined a year ago, but this is my first post. Doe anyone know of any good sources for AFTERMARKET mufflers for John Deere Tractors? I have a 1996 7400 AWD and need a new muffler for it. The JD factory replacement one is expensive, so before I pull that trigger, I am hoping some of you may have good sources to turn me on too. Thanks. And this is a great site.

I'm someone that has always hated the price of replacement mufflers through the manufacture. They always seem overpriced.

Welcome to TBN I have received so much help from the countless people on the site.

Thanks Tx Jim for your valuable information. However, I should have been more specific of exactly what it is I need. I have previously found sources for the muffler itself. More specifically, I need the Exhaust Pipe or stand pipe from where it attaches to the muffler and comes out of the engine compartment and then up vertical. For some reason, I cannot locate that part(s) from any aftermarket supplier.
What I am hoping to get from you guys is a source I have not heard about. Thanks.

I found no listing in A&I for an exhaust pipe.

I have used All States Ag Parts to find parts for my old JD 4020. You may want to give them a try, see if they have an aftermarket or even a good used one. There number is 877-530-4430. I also have another source I've used, but I can't for the life of me remember who. If it comes to me, I'll post that too.

Good luck!

Is there anything left of the old exhaust pipe? A good muffler shop can bend a new one. A great muffler shop may even have mandrels so the pipe is not all squished at the bends. Or if you were adventurous you could look at buying mandrel bent pipes and putting something together. Mandrel Exhaust Systems - Featuring Mandrel Bends - Catback, Downpipe
