I personally would spend a few hours putting the lights on myself from parts locally purchased and save $100.

Hey, that's just me.

What is unclear is if there is anything in the "kit" besides the two lights. I'm betting there isn't. I figure the wiring harness is already in the cab. The reason I say that is with every other work light "kit" that JD sells that includes wiring harness, wire looms and wire ties, they are all broken down and have part numbers assigned. This is so you can order replacement parts in case you damage a harness or something.

If this "kit" is just two LED lights and a pair of nuts and bolts, you could get a pair of good quality LED lights for around $50 and save $180.

Some of the LED work light kits for the compact tractors cost almost $500 and you can go and buy similar lights yourself for around $60.

I realize JD has thousands of these kinds of parts but I wish they were Like Polaris. Got the kit today. Its plug'n'Play. Has 2 LED lights, wire harness, fasteners etc. Everything needed to install. (Made in China)

Thanks for posting the info. That's strange that JD is not breaking down this kit in the parts system. They usually show the individual part numbers for the light assemblies, wiring harnesses and switches in case anyone ever needs a replacement. I guess they figure folks will just have to re-purchase the whole kit if they ever need a replacement lamp or wiring harness.

I suspect the lights are made by Grote. Do they have any model or part numbers on them?

No just a label that says made in china, no part number on anything and a label with a letter or two like on the harness that you can just make out part of in the pic. No brand identification anywhere .

Do the instructons show how to wire the harness?

And I notice that one of the items is a "switch bracket". So does the switch not mount in the dash?
