2004 John Deere 4410 eHydro
Just had a bad experience with a new Deere 4410 w/loader and backhoe and it's dealer. I ended up sending it back. Can you guys recommend a NH 4wd Hydro with comparable specs? I'm in Mass.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check out Chappel.

Not a very chatty group is this? If I had written a similar post to the Deere board I would have been flooded with advice on buying a Deere!

Dave, I think the Kubota guys have the most time on their hands and post that way. The Kioti guys scream the loudest about their brand. And the NH guys post substance and view the other forums. The reality of your situation (based on the thread you started in the JD forum) is that you got a "lemon" of a tractor and you bought it from a dealership that I would consider to be less than stellar. I bought a Pontiac from a dealership that acted similar to your dealership experience. I ended up going to mediation with G.M and the Better Business Bureau 4 times. Eventually I wised up and got rid of the car. I wish I had done it sooner. And anyone who asks about the dealership is told my story.

As for the NH tractors versus the Deere tractors. We have our warts just like every other brand. The TC33 is an awesome machine, lots of power in a nice size frame. The 14LA loader is very nice, you will notice the increase of visibility and ease of use of the loader very quickly. The next step up is the TC35, it goes up in frame size with little bump in HP, but the loader is stronger if you need a heavier duty loader.

I have NH and Kubota. Both are excellent. Kubota loaders are weak compared to other brands, and nothing in beats the curved arm NH loaders for visibility and the specs rate them very high too. Kubota's engines are very smooth. NH engines are smooth. Near as I can tell, all brands engines are reliable.

Good luck with your "lemon" of Deere. For your sake, I hope you don't repeat the mistakes I made with my Pontiac and try to arbritrate the situation. A lemon is always going to leave a sour taste in your mouth no matter how much the dealer tries to sugar coat it.

I agree with Bob. I love NH and would buy another any day of the week. I didn't buy from Chappell, but I go the Brentwood store and they are always very good there. I think you got a lemon, and the dealer was really bad. Not sure where you went, but my cousin who does some farming suggested going to Padula's in MA. The JD dealers wanted way too much near me. He mentioned the farmers around him don't bother with the New Hampshire dealers. Also, I have heard good things about Scamman in Maine (NH Dealer).

If you are interested in New Holland, don't bother with MB in Tilton. They carry NH, but only try to sell Kubota.

Bob, I view your posts as generally fair and independant but I feel this statment may be a bit biased towards the small kubotas.

The larger Kubotas, L series and up all have comparable loader capabilities to other tractors in the same classes. (Well except the LA513 loader, why bother when the 723 is available!)

Can't say a thing about the visibility, I agree! I was in a Kioti DK55 the other day and the short curved hood tractors are incredible for view!

Slowzuki . . . you are absolutely correct, my comments about the Kubota loaders being weak should have been qualified.

Based on the comparisons I have done, the loaders for the following tractors are weak: B7800, B2910, B7610, B2410, B7500 series. Once you get up to the L3130 with the 723 loader, things do change and their loaders do seem to be very competitive.

As for the visibility, not only does the sloped & curved hood designs of some other brands help visibility, but the curved loader arms offer an even more dramatic viewing advantage.

I prefer to think we were all out working with our tractors instead of in the house at our computers asking how to fix them. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think it's a stretch to expect New Holland guys to know the specs of a John Deere 4410. If you could give us a little more detail about what you are looking for, I bet you'd get some more interesting responses.

Having said that, Hazmat, Bob, and Slowzuki's replies are very much in line with what I would say. New Holland tractors have their share of gotchas, but a good dealer can make most of those go away. The TC33DA and/or TC35DA would be a good replacement for your 4410. I guess it just depends on how much weight you want to haul and how heavy a machine you are looking for. Since I don't have the time to scan all posts, can you tell us a little more about the uses you plan for your tractor? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
