Tractor
Deere 333g track loader
When I turn the key on everything is normal--the tach needle cycles and the start delay indicator times out. But when I turn the key it to start the solenoid chatters like the battery is weak and the dash lites flicker and flash quickly. I checked the battery and its okay. There is no history of electrical problems with this tractor.
What is thefix for this.

How old is the battery, are the connectios clean and bright? Just because the battery shows 12 volts, means nothing, an old battery can be incapable of providing the starting amperage. I replace my batteries every 4 years no matter what.

Most starting issuues will be the battery or corroded connections.

How did you check the battery? Monitor the voltage as somebody tries to crank the tractor. If it drops below say ten volts it's time to replace it. If it is good you should probably clean the terminals and the cable connectors. Tighten SECURELY when replacing them. Follow the ground cable to the frame. Clean and tighten. If still no joy we start troubleshooting.
