Kioti CK35
Well I pulled the trigger on a 2009 CK35 with FEL and 48inch brush mower last week. I don't have much tractor experience except for a few MF when I worked at a local greenhouse as a teenager where I mainly bush hogged, plowed and tilled the owners personal fields.

So far I'm liking the little guy even though my hour meter didn't work. Last night I took it apart and found the connector in the engine bay that wasn't connected (Blue/White). Traced that back to the Sig2 on the cluster. Hooked everything back up and fired it up for an hour... now showing 2 hrs.

The dealer would've fixed it but I spoke with his mechanic and was comfortable at least looking for the problem.

We just bought a place last June with 110 acres, 15 of which was former crop fields (Not sure what crop) and the rest being mixed wooded. I figure I'll likely start harvesting my own fire wood and maybe this fall plow the fields and plan to do some oilseed crop (I make my own bio-diesel for my VW TDI). Of course that means a seed press and implements for harvesting etc etc.. Big plans but taking it one step at a time.

To top it all off I'm a career IT guy and work for a credit union maintaining their entire computer/network/telephone systems. I also love mechanical things and neither of my vehicles (TDI or Jeep YJ) have seen a shop since I bought them except for MVI.

This seems like a huge resource and I am glad I found it.

PS What have you guys done to protect the hydraulic filter on the CK35's? It seems very exposed and just asking for a stump or rock to take it off.

Thanks

Kristian

Welcome to the pack. I am a relatively new owner myself, and thrilled to have a Kioti CK30. It has come in very handy. Speaking of handy, sounds like you will be offering more help than receiving.

Enjoy!!

Thanks,

I'm still only young haven't even broken the 30 yr mark yet... it sounds like I know more than I do :D

I have always had that itch to figure out how things work and I guess that allows me to fix it when it doesn't!

Welcome and post some pics of your new baby. :):) I have a 2008 CK35 HST with a Woods backhoe. You will find lots of ideas and help on this site. I have not worried too much about the filter; I just try to watch what I am doing and look out for stumps and stuff.
Got mine partly to do what I would call light logging. Bringing logs or rounds out of the bush. Bigger rounds I lift with the backhoe onto the wood splitter, really saves the back. Also use it to grade our private road, about ¾ mile. Move dirt, compost :D and good things like that.

We have enough coyotes around here now but this type of Kioti is acceptable. Welcome to the pack, I'm just down the road from you in D.S. Did you buy from Kevin or Brock?

Couple shots of pick up day and one of it tucked into the shed barely. I don't leave the bucket up it was just one night until I cleaned up more space.

The woman said she wants to start tractor modelling haha

Nice pictures, can I borrow the saw??

Congrats on the new toy! Look forward to hearing about your bio-D farming....

The most common way people use to protect the filter is by leaving their BH subframe on and some adding a custom skid plate too. I believe there was someone producing a dedicated skid plate that mounts separately from a BH subframe........but the thread escapes me. Too lazy to try a search right now..

I am certain Rick Wallace can put something together to protect the filter, I be he already has.

You bring up a good point, you'd not want to loose that fluid while operating, could result in much more money than a filter.

A skid from the FEL sub-frame sounds like a plan.

I'm already wishing I got a box blade with it

Oh well I'll just have to key my eyes open for a deal on one.

Oh JoelD the model declined your request :D

I got a used 6 ft boxblade through Craigslist about a year after I got my CK35, was a good deal and they delivered it, about 2 1/2 hour drive away.
Best size would be a 5 ft, sometimes bigger is not better. My 6 ft works well and I won't give it back but if I was looking again it would be for a 5 ft.

Hey welcome Kilo!

Nice rig. If you do find a box blade, or when you find a box blade, you will love it.

Be careful with that model, she may want to start taking on your seat time!!

I have not made a skid plate yet for my filter, as I don't often get into rocky or stumpy areas but I did dent the heck out of the last one. Kioti should make a bolt on accessory for them.

Enjoy!

Thank you for letting me down easy.

I like my box blade very much, I use with the rippers all the time, I've found nothing better at leveling and pulling rocks out of the soil, they also work great when in reverse to spread loam and the like.

Get the strongest box blade you can afford, there is a lot of stress on them, particularly with a 30hp machine.
