Sorry my bad on the first post it is only 60 x 38 so it is 60 feet deep and 38 on the ends with the doors. I have not installed the doors yet I have to wait till next spring. I have estimates for the doors at about $6000 including installation and the lift. This was a ten-year dream that I finally was able to do the starting last December by putting the post in the ground I would hate to add up every penny but I know it's a whole lot less than if I had hired someone to build it. Here are some cost for those who have asked
Footings 2x2 1 foot deep then buried 4' of the 20' post 22 posts. Building inspector required that I cabled the post to the cement pad before the cement dried. Cement 500 lumber 150. Lumber and coil nails for barn including plywood roof but not barn boards. 8000. Trusses 6500. Side barn boards 4500. Roofing and screws 4700
Insurance adjuster estimated replacement value as is at 76,000. So I figured I built it for well under half what it is valued at. I never did get an estimate to have it built I just wanted the satisfaction of doing it myself with my boys. This was great quality time and we all learned a lot. This barn will not only keep all of our stuff together it helps keep our family together as well the great and investment and I'm glad I did it. My boys are 2019 and 17 and then I have younger ones as well everyone pitched in.
Thank you guys for your interest I learned a lot on this server list. Mark

And room for my dreams

That's a really nice barn. Are you going to leave the wood natural? Or put some stain or preservative on it?

PS, I love the new vettes too, but I chose the wrong profession a long time ago to be able to afford one of those.

I wanted to leave it natural but I am told it would be a lot of work to keep staining it over and over again with preserve so I have to add some pigment to it I'm not sure yet what color to go with

I was going to use that but I checked with several hardware stores and local supply stores they all said if I don't add some color to it I will just be re-staining it year after year

Love that truck.

Building your own barn is satisfying. I built my 44x52 barn 10 yrs ago. My biggest mistake was only going 12' high on the doors.

As for building yourself vs a crew. My buddy had a 80x40 built cheaper then he could buy the materials. The cre did it on his finished site in 4 days including the cement.

My neighbor started a Menards barn project and had a crew finish it. The crew leader shot him the price for one of their barns, a 60x30 finished and it was cheaper than the 50x30 kit they had bought at Menards.

Long story short is barns are many times cheaper to have built than building yourself because they buy materials in bulk and press their own metal on site from rolls. Now yours is a special build, not just a metal barn so that might not be the case in yours, but for most it is.
