The one was a metal tab. Drilled it out. Other was just a plastic tab. Trimmed it off. Easy peasy.

It's not those red plastic caps. They are metal in newer one

Why waste time pulling the metal cap inside there to do the same thing. I was going to take the tab off anyway. ;)

Just like this 251 carb with 2 metal caps. Just to easy to drill the freaking tab off and never have to pull the metal caps.

Makes sense...

I keep reading complaints about wearing B&C oil because of the Stihl oil caps. Is that any worse than the caps which somebody occasionally forgets to put back on?
I'm just asking for a friend. :D

Yeah I done that to, I also on occasion put oil in the gas tank before but least I noticed it before I tighten the cap..........

So sad. I guess I don't have any saws new enough to have limiter caps or flip-up caps. I feel your pain.

I'm not a fan of my Stihl Flippies but I bought the alternative on Eee-Bay and they leak oil all over. Not so much on the fuel though. I wish I could say that they are better than flippies but not for my saws.

I always keep the bar wrench with screw driver on the end, with the oil and gas. I used to put it in my pocket, but would drop it on the ground instead of getting it in the pocket. On the second tank of gas, i'll sit down and pop the cover off, look at things, maybe clean it a bit and a quick run with the round file. I've not tried square filing yet, though have used it on larger saws, usually with a skip, to help keep the curve clean, less like to jam up.

Yeah I hope that guy shows how timing is adjusted on a chainsaw, dont make sense to me but I have no idea how to fix or modify a saw either, guess it's called ported. My Husqvarna 550xp came souped up but if that guy can juice up them old Mcculochs I'm in then fix the vibration........

Always can tell a Mcculoch, nice old saw....... mcculloch PM7 chainsaw - YouTube

Bucken has no chain brake, must of been an earlier Mac edition..

I dont get it I cant cut a stick without an eye full of sawdust and Bucken has neither ear or eye protection on from one of loudest saws created but he did wear ear protection for a little bit @14:45 after he flooded out the Mac. What a mess he was in, he had no where's near the right equipment for that job and I dont think I could cut wood with a axe on my belt. I hope someone has logged that mess by now, be a waste to let it go to rot....

Yeah i noticed that to.

Mine looks just like his but it does have the brake. i have heard the brake handles can be broken on the mac's since it is a cast piece and getting dropped just so.

Cutting wood with an ax hanging, not something I would be up to.

I think Billy is somewhat of a "Force of Nature"- although he was at the hospital with swollen parts the other day on a newer video.

I really do enjoy the man's attitude toward life.

There sure was a whole lot of wood just laying around for sure, Good firewood if nothing else.

Wonder what a Husky 480 would be worth towards a Stihl 660...
I got my starter recoil fixed; replaced broken tab with a stud drilled and tapped in to the side cover. Runs and cuts great now; had just put a new 4" bar and chain on it when the recoil assembly broke.

But it is an older saw, hard to find part, no chain brake. Would like to get something newer with safety features.

JonCutter 2500 is a copy of the Zenoah Redmax 2500 top handle 25cc 25.4cc. Not bad for a cheap top handle and light weight. $99 if you shop ebay or US dealer

Forgot to weigh it PHO dry. Will empty and weigh later with spike installed with clutch cover etc all on but b+c.
Paper specs show 3kg = 6.6lbs

25.4cc JonCutter Prowler Puppy Top Handle Arborist Gasoline Chainsaw Power Head Without Saw Chain and blade One Year Warranty

A041 mount with 45DL 3/8LP in 12" for me

At this point in time it would be hard for me to buy anything coMMunist made if I can help it.

Dealer swapped me out of my POS MS whatever toycutter for a used 346XP Husqvarna with new piston/cylinder, bar and chain.

Thing runs great and he gave me full price back in trade. I actually went in to buy a new carb so I could make the saw run, he said no way and to bring the saw back.

You got a nice saw. I bought a new 346 in 2004 and if I knew three years later what I know now it never would have been sold for parts.

I also had a 346 husky back in (04)-ish but but dont remember if it being a XP or not, in 2013 went to buy another one but was told the 550XP took it's place. The 550xp is on it's way of being one of the longest lasting Husqvarna numbers, I hope I hate the constant model number changing.
