A little later than that, as I remember my grandfather still wearing a hat when he'd be dressed for church or a funeral in the 1970's or even 1980's.My grandfather always wore a hat… guess by the 1960’s only those of retirement age carried on the tradition?

I wish! Our local lake does still occasionally freeze over and allow people to use it for skating and fishing. But the days or weeks of it being frozen well enough in recent decades, to actually allow for ice sailing would be too short and infrequent to ever schedule racing around, or even to justify the build cost of an ice boat.I've always heard and know a few folks that iceboat race do you partake in that winter activity. UH-OH!!!I'll let you know once I get some real use out of. Been fiddling with the truck fixing little things, mounting tires and still have to change all the fluids. Learning how Chevy does stuff, been all MoPar for 40 years.
