That is one of my pet hates. What idiot engineer designed 'automatic on DRLS' to come on high beams is beyond me.

Blame Generous Motors for that one.
GMs were the first ones I saw that had the high beams for DRL.
Those two statements will probably get contradicted by RickB

I think the car should be designed so turning on the wipers turns on the headlights. Even a dummy like me could figure out how to wire that up. :)

Every time you wash bugs or dust off your windows your headlights would come on.

Well danged if TBN has gotten me up to speed on DRL. And excuse me for not having a modern truck that does...along with GPS for idiots who don't know where they are or where they are going...or whether their lights are on or not.

I was raised to know my way around, read maps, etc... a regular Boy Scout. I used to laugh at people with a GPS for not knowing where they are at all times. And I'd whip out my atlas, look at some maps, plan my route, commit it to memory and off I'd go. Then one day, I had an epiphany... a GPS is a map box. With way more, better, and up-to-date maps than my atlas ever had. And when I get hungry, it'll find me a place to eat, or a place to return my beer rental, etc... I love my GPS. And refrigeration. And toilet paper. And sliced bread. And beer...

That story could have happened at any speed, your in the wrong calling him stupid cause he hit a elk and lost control.

Sure speeding and passing on a double yellow was wrong but I have heard of and seen more wrecks from people trying to avoid animals in all conditions.

The guy was a idiot.....hitting the elk was the least of his problems. Going 80mph in a severe rain storm.......passing on a double yellow and on a hill was just asking for trouble. Like I said......glad he didn't hurt or kill other people.........total fool......the elk was not the story here......it was the idiot driver.

Hey, with the current "auto on" your lights go off and on with heavy clouds, brushy roads, tunnels, parking garages, etc., etc.

So the problem would be???? :)

I'm with you Mike. Terry's Grand Cherokee has "auto on" lights. She loves them. I hate them. She also uses the auto dim feature which I also hate. I also have no use for the GPS feature.....

My Son works for a tow service. They absolutely love GPS. Not on their vehicles. On customer's vehicles. You know the ones. "Sir why did you drive your Prius down this mud road?" "Well, it's where my GPS said to turn". :D
