That is really a neat looking project you should be proud. I hope it always works well for you.

Thanks for getting back to me. I am going to order plans, I was afraid my flow rate would be too low, (about 3.75 GPM) and was worried about having to use a PTO pump etc. I too have a power beyond valve on my 608 loader. The tech support from Cadplans / MetKit is excellent! John helped me out a lot when I built the loader, even on Sunday evening!

Built your own backhoe...that is too cool!!!!

It looks like it's standard mount to the 3PH. I assume you stabilize by lowering the 3PH till the "legs" dig in?
Or am I missing something?

Nice work. Good color

Thanks. Yes it does hook to the 3 point hitch and I was concerned that the tractor wouldn't be able to lift it, but has no problem at all, even with the bucket fully extended. when I get to the spot that I want to dig, I lower the 3 point and drop the front bucket so the rig wont roll, put in neurtal, and start digging. The one thing you cant do is push down with the bucket cause it raises the 3 point hitch. You have to clamp the ground inbetween the bucket and the stabalizers.

I would install a chain/bar from top link to hitch to stop the BH from being pushed up. The plans I look at had a whole page about checking the tiedowns every so often and other safety info. They even said a young man was killed when the BH pushed up and he hit his head on the ROPS. I going to order a kit in the spring.

Yes, many people get killed because they dont actually know what they are doing, or forget to check what others are doing.

Few months ago, my brother saw a road constructing employee die, because he got under a tractor and earth dumper that was revesing, he minded his own work, didn't hear the tractor because he was operating an air hammer and forgot to keep an eye on the tractor.

I appreciate the info on the three point hitch. Will add chain to make it safer. Where can I find the safety info on the BH.

Thanks
