Hey All, When I got home from work today my BX24 was sitting in my driveway with my grass collector installed from the dealer (they had it on back order when I got the tractor in Feb). There are no instructions. Is there something online I can get? Does this thing attach with the 3ph? I'm new to all this so sorry if this is kinda dumb. I have no clue how to use this or take it on or off.

Where do I start?

John

It only uses the top link from the 3-point, otherwise it uses the BH sub-frame mounting points.

I would see if the dealer will send you the manuals (there are three, the bagger, the boot that connects to the mower, and the stand kit). I don't recall seeing this bagger manual on the net. I'm in the process of scanning my manuals to be PDF files, but haven't quite gotten to the bagger yet...:(

OK, thanks. So the dealer should have given me the manuals. I'll call them tomorrow and see what they say.

You'll need them, and I'm sure your dealer will send them...but if not, I'll re-prioritize my manual scanning project to make the bagger next and email them to you.

I just remembered...something to watch for when removing/installing bagger on BX24 only. There are 2-inch sleeves that go over each mounting pin (four)...easy to lose/forget to install. The bagger fits the 1850/2350 as well, and the sleeves make it fit the 24's sub-frame.

Along with the sleeves, there's a flat brace on one side that needs to go over the pin prior to cranking the bagger onto the sub-frame. I've forgotten to install it several times, and it requires complete removal in order to get it in place. Manuals came with mine and should have been delivered with yours. It's a nice attachment, but I'm not pleased with the storage feet. It's not real stable off the tractor. Be careful if you have small children around.

Don't know if it's like the one on the BX2200 or not. That one had it's own top link piece fused in place. 3ph lift had to be perfect or pin would bind. Only implement I ever felt was a true PITA to put on and take off.

I discovered the joy of mulching and sold my bagger/blower to Junkman. Good riddance!!

I learned the hard way (like you) to leave the brace pinned in place (along with those sleeves) when storing the bagger, so they're right there to remind me when putting it on next time.

Hadn't noticed the feet instability issue...I skid mine around in the barn to store/install, and it seems to have the right amount of back tilt to be stable. Biggest problem I have is keeping u-joint aligned on pto while cranking bagger into place with toplink.

Can you separate the halves, and have both installed, get the shaft started, and then crank it in place?

Nope...it's a rigid u-joint, not a pull-apart.:(

Yah, you have to tweak it up the point of being able to align and slip the sleeve onto the splined shaft, then begin to crank it onto the mount while keeping the sleeve from binding. A third hand would be great at this point. A lot of grease on the shaft seems to help.

BotaBigot, If you have the time, please send me those pdf files. My dealer is just not much help. They denied any manuals existed and then came up with the installation manual. They say that's all there is. This thing is giving me fits. They also gave me nothing for the mower deck. My seat fell apart using it for the first real work yesterday. They took it this morning and said they would have it back by the end of the day. Guess what? No tractor at the end of the day. Frankly, I'm sorry I bought this thing at this point.

Not completely sure about the BX24, but my BX23 has individual manuals for the mmm and the Kubota bagger. They are similar format to your tractor, FEL and BH manuals. All the money you just spent I would make sure you have some reference. You don't hear this often about Kubota dealers, I've always had pleasant experiences. I could never find a site that had the manuals in PDF, if anyone has a link it would be appreciated and good reference. Good luck with your tractor, I was never a big bagger fan but I am now.

In my opinion, the manuals are essential for proper operation and maintenance. Your dealer apparently doesn't agree...

Sorry to hear you're off to a bad start with your BX. Hope things get straightened out quickly and you start enjoying a great machine. It's like restaurants...a lousy waiter can ruin the best of meals...
