You're gonna be surprised how fast that fills-in with gravel from upstream. You can't drive much in that loose gravel either.

Bucket can scoop out loose gravel!

About 1/2 a mile from the spring where this creek starts ...

I got home late this morning, and put the BH back on, and went down to the creek again ... My thought is I want to make the creek crossing wider, the the water flow will be more spread out once it starts to flow, and hopefully not wash out this spring ...

I figure if I can push the whole bank back about 3'-4', and keep the same level of the creek crossing it will be a good afternoons worth of work!

It was nice T-shirt weather, eventually the clouds came in, it forecast to storm tomorrow ...

So I started digging! Widening the reservoir to get it to open up into the crossing better ...

There is a reason this area is called Rocky Hollow ... Fortunately none are big! (And I'm not using a shovel & wheelbarrow!)

Scoop it ever which way I can ... Just little bites at a time ...

Gotta build the ramp back out for the crossing, it needs to be more gradual to get the mower across ...

IMG_20251227_141253840.jpg

Got the ramp the way I like it, while I can go up it with this little tractor, I need it 3 times as wide for the mower ...

Got home today and was on my way to do a fencing project, and swung by the creek, it's full and flowing, I'm quite happy that I widened the creek crossing as it seems to spread out the volume, as long as it stays the same as this, the grass will take over most of it ...

Was out today digging a little ditch, taking little bites with the 6" trenching bucket ... Found a BIG rock!

IMG_20260313_151720800.jpg

It stuck out of the bucket about 16"-18", Little Baby Fergie definitely knew it was back there when we took off with it!

The expansion is still holding up GOOD, I'm very happy with it, went down to get a load of water yesterday, as we haven't had much rain recently ... I saw a few small 3/4" long fish, not sure where they came from, but they like the pond! Hopefully it's deep enough now to hold them through the summer!

I also saw a small 1" long crayfish/crawdad, and a bunch of pollywogs ...

A bit of a too full load!

Nice project! I envy your ability to do it. The DEP would throw me in jail if I attempted to do something like that around here.
