Just make sure you know your road can accept delivery of your new tractor

Maybe the RR is liable. That crossing could not accommodate vehicles that are suitable for highway service and was some kind of a TRAP in effect. Was there signage, I wonder, warning of this?

The RR didn't build the road across the tracks, with a hump at the rails. The RR didn't design and sell a low clearance trailer. The RR didn't route a low trailer across a humped crossing.

Youtube is full of videos of low trailers stuck on tracks. Highway departments could build up the road on each side so there wasn't a hump at the tracks.

They have warning signs for low clearance bridges. Would it be out of the question to post a warning of such a TRAP for low ground clearance vehicles? Is a level crossing not a joint effort between RR and whatever municipality/road department?

Yeah, yeah, that's what happened. It was the RR's fault, yeah,, and the Municipality, yeah, yeah, that's it!!!! There's no way it could be the personal fault of the driver!!!! Yeah, that's the ticket, blame on the Government!!!!! Yeah!!!! :confused3:

Of course it's the "Mans" fault. Just like the high interest rates on your maxed out cards! How dare the "Man" set up such traps!

O.K. We will settle it the modern way. Anyone, even a passing bystander, with the highest liability insurance IS responsible! That is the easiest and everyone will get some gravy!

I have never, ever seen that low clearance signage. It does open a whole new can of worms. If a truck has made it over 99 such crossings and the 100th is a little different, and an accident occurs, who is responsible. With a bridge, the clearance is more or less understandable.
