That is a good point. I run about 850 on my camper and that's with me packing it nose heavy intentionally, I land on about 13%. It has a 7500 gvwr and 3500 lb axles.

When it's time for tires I'll be upgrading them, like I did my camper. But unless I ever see a problem, I think those axles are probably here to stay!

Still no word at all on when my tractor will be in. It's KILLING ME! Haha

I'm not in any sort of situation where I *need* it, but I had plans for this year to change all my shrub/flower beds to black mulch vs pine needles, I want to run a main line around the house and install irrigation, I have ordered a load of sand/OM blend and want to level and top dress my lawn, and I have an area where I want to remove the existing grass, and prep to lay sod. I prepped 7,000 square feet with hand tools and a 40v cultivator last year and laid 14 pallets of sod. I also need to backfill next to a boardwalk style walkway I've built leading from our house to the pool.

With a tractor on the way... eventually...I refuse to do all this with shovels, wheel barrow, and rakes now .

I'll still do the mulch, as without it our beds looks terrible. But everything else will wait! A few times a year bagged mulch goes on sale at Lowe's for about $2/bag. When it does that actually comes out cheaper than what I pay locally for a yard in bulk (1yd@$40). So I'll just buy bags and distribute from the truck bed where needed, that's easier than wheel barrowing it from the back yard.

I just picked up 60 bags of the mulch from Lowes.... can't get it any cheaper...

I have it all stacked behind the shed. I'll use the tractor to distribute the bags to where needed.

Yep. Many times when I say this people laugh and say how I should always buy it in bulk, as it's way cheaper. I always find that those folks haven't done the math. When it goes on sale it's pretty cheap and convenient to handle in bags. For a homeowner who can wait to do the mulch when it's on sale this is a good solution.

I used to work as a commercial landscaper, and then it doesn't work out. You have to buy the mulch when the job demands, not when it happens to go on sale.

Once I get my tractor I think I will buy it in bulk and have it dumped on my driveway, which is close to where I need it, and should be easy to scoop with the bucket. That way I won't have to wait. But, when all I have is a wheelbarrow... I'm not afraid of work but as time goes on I have less and less free time to get stuff done.

Unless I'm mistaken it isn't on sale any more right now by me, it's close to $4/bag right now. For small quantities that would be fine, but I'm replacing all my needles with mulch for the first time...gonna need a lot!

Ive run the numbers on the mulch too and it seems the bags are close to the bulk price.
I pay $120 for 5 yds of bulk dyed mulch.
Going by the price, for bagged, that Lowes has for it on sale the same amount would cost me only $135. Thats for 67.5 bags to equal 5 yds.
Problem is my bed is 5 yd leveled and 67.5 bags aint gonna start to fill it. Heres a pic of the last 5 yd I got.

I pay $40/yard in bulk, the bags can actually be cheaper.
