I heavily considered the 2706e with shuttle, but I've been spoiled with the JD hydro and my budget dictates the 2705e to get it. I do a lot of mowing and loader work and having had the hydro i'd have a hard time going back.
Hope we both are posting in a few years about how good these tractors are.

Jason

I hope so too, man. I've researched the heck out of this decision and feel quite confident in it.

Almost to a tee of my experience with my 28 yr old 750. Nose in the air JD dealer who wanted a million bucks for their stuff while showing me next to nothing on my trade. A Mahindra dealer showing me 7K for my 750 is who I went with . Preferred the L4000 series over this Mahindra I have but the Kubota dealer was worse than the JD dealer. Wouldn't have bought that baked owl from the Kubota arrogance laden guy.

That was another point for the Kubota: The dealer started out as an Allis Chalmers dealer in the 50's and has been servicing actual farmers ever since. Yes, he sells to the ranchette/yuppie crowd too, but he knows how important service after the sale is to farmers.

Last Spring, I fired up the AC on the first warm day and...nada. In that greenhouse of a cab, AC is not an option, it's a necessity and my busy season was coming up quick. I called the dealer, he said "If you can get it here by opening time tomorrow, we'll take it right in."

I did, he did and I loaded it up and trailered it home fixed 2 hours later. Bad O-ring on one of the compressor fittings.

And trade-in was not an option for the ol' 750. Book was under $500 on it and the sales guy said "You'd have to be nuts to trade it in. Put it on craigslist at a reasonable price and it'll get snapped up before the ink is dry."

He was right about that too, sold it in 48 hours for $5500 plus $125 for delivering it.

How is this for irony... My local dealer with 2 locations less than 22 miles of me called me this morning and said he had the Massey factory rep at his place and wanted me to come see what we could work out, remember he quoted me right at $28900 the first time after pushing his Mahindra tractors on me. After I gave him a middle ground budget of $26500 budget based on online pricing he came back at $27820.

I went to the Massey dealer 60 miles away this morning and he wrote up the quote just like he said over the phone $25'700 beating most of the online pricing. I said you have a deal, he didn't have my tractor in with Industrial tires in stock so he logged into Massey's system and found a tractor and entered it for a dealer transfer from my local Massey/Mahindra and sold me the tractor that was on their lot. I went to pay him and he said you can pay the driver when we deliver it, said he would take my money when he knew I was happy with the tractor on my property. Said he thought he could deliver by end of next week and I said that works out fine for me.

He called me this afternoon (same day) and he had already picked the tractor up from the local deal and had at his shop to make sure everything was as it should be. They are going to try and deliver it tomorrow.

I'm pretty stoked about the deal and that this dealer was quick to respond and get the tractor to his yard for inspection. It's a new tractor and he could have easily just brought it straight to my property and not inspected it.

#3 here agreeing. If you are new to farming and come from a professional, white collar type background, never having sat in a tractor seat, not mechanically inclined and "all that rot", I can see the need for a dealer/company (JD) that will take care of your every need. That's not me and I buy accordingly.

Massey 2705e Hydro Tractor was delivered Friday, much quicker than the dealer indicated when we first spoke. My salesman and his wife delivered it. I've have about 6 hours on it filling in a trench and playing with the bush hog. The weight and HP seem to be just what I wanted/expected. 50hp, 3800# plus loader. It doesn't have the anti stall feature, but I never had it as a kid so I've adjusted quickly. It has a Cat2 3pt hitch so I need to buy some sleeves as my attachments are all Cat1. The extendable link arms are a blessing, the soft start PTO is pretty nifty for the bush hog.

I will say, the Hydro drive whines more than my JD4410 did, but I say it's OK because I can change speed a thousand times and never clutch or shift gears. Being a relatively new model, I just have to hope a design flaw doesn't emerge.

Nice. Also nice how it "camouflages" in front of the barn. :)

Sold my JD 4005 and 300x loader. Purchased a beautifully designed 2016 leftover MF 2705e with L135E loader, R-4 Industrial Tires, HD Bucket, Skid Steer Quick Tach style latches, Rear Hydraulic Remotes. ONE GLITCH: HELP. Now at 9 engine hours and ECU Trouble Engine Light(lower right dash Yellow in color) causes throttle to be at idle while on. Happens usually if started with tractor throttle position at idle. Cannot be driven unless restarted with throttle elevated off idle position. All fluids, belt, fuel, etc. are full and checked. ANY TIPS on clearing ECU or what is causing this??? Thanks in advance.
