Nice. Shows true grit and determination. Most folks would've given up LONG before they were buried 5 feet down, but then again, most folks are wimps /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

If it was not for the strong BH of my Little L39, I think both myself and the machine would be at the bottom of some mudhole by now.

The small tires and weight of the L-39 make it not much of a woods/soft ground machine.

Sure do miss my 2x12 x10' ramp that is now splinters. Could not even recover the ends to save the Aluminum.

Your not the only one to try pushing dirt into a mud hole and get stuck doing so.

I posted this pictre awhile ago, but thought you might enjoy it.

I had filled in a hole quite awhile ago, but it was still holding water. I figured to smooth it out and pack it down some with my dozer. I knew not to drive right over the hole, but tried getting as close as I could.

It was getting dark out and I couldn't see very well, but was almost done and wanted to finish it off.

The mistakes keep adding up until it happened.

The tracks broke through to mush and when I put it in reverse, I buried it. Once the tracks start spinning, that's it. Your in TROUBLE!!!

It weights 40,000 pounds.

I didn't sleep to well that night thinking of ways to get it out and what it would cost to bring somebody out here with a machine big enough to pull me out.

That morning I started digging with my backhoe, and by late afternoon I had removed so much dirt that it was down hill all around me to get out. The belly pans were still sitting on mud though, and I couldn't move.

I had to hand shovel a tunnel underneath to remove the suction caused by the mud.

Once that was done, I was able to drive it out.

THAT WAS A VERY LONG DAY!!!!!!!!!!

"someone told me if I put fish in it I would have to take care of them"

And if you put a tractor in it, you'll have to take care of it. Something tells me that the fish would have been easier, and you can eat them!

( So you went out and dug a hole, the filled with water, and then put the dirt back in hole, and then tried to drive over it?
)

Sounds like a chain gang movie I once saw:

“See that piece a ground right here? Boss wants a hole dug there…”
“Yes boss…”
Later on…
“Whatcha doing Luke?”
“Diggin’ a hole for Boss”
“Boss don’t want no empty hole Luke. Fill that hole with water.”
“Yes boss…”
Later on…
“Whatcha doing Luke?”
“Fillin’ Boss’ hole with water…”
“Luke, Boss don’t want no hole filled with jest water. Put some fish in that hole.”
“Yes boss…”
Later on…
“Whatcha doing Luke?”
“Puttin’ fish in Boss’ water hole…”
“Boss don’t wanna be bothered takin’ care of fish. Fill that hole in Luke.”
“Yes boss…”

I don't know why we called it the "railroad cut", it was just a roadbed. The railroad went broke and never layed the rails. There was about a half acre on the other side where we conducted "experiments" like growing some strange hybrid corn. Granddad never had a problem with it, he used horses and a walkin' plow. Dad decided he wanted to experiment with soybeans, and he sent me'n his tractor down there to plow it for the first time in 5 years. When I was done, I decided to drive over the cut instead of around it. Lifted the three point and went straight up the slope. Of course, the plows didn't get up fast enough and dug in. I managed to interest the nearest neighbor in pullin' that little Ford off'n the road bed, but he made be leave the Dearborns behind. Shoot I could'a done that without his help. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
