Just When I Thought My BX25 Was Enough...

I have to respectfully disagree with Jay400 as I have personally found the BX to be more than capable and extremely useful for many things other than just cutting grass. I had an L series and personally found it to be too small for a lot of my projects and ended up getting an MX. I now use the BX for all my residential type of work, where weight is a negative and maneuverability is important. I found it more than capable for lighter landscaping and while my MX can out work it on large tasks, I find there are often things my BX does the MX simply can not. I recently been using the BX to clear ditch lines on a small gravel road. Im not using the backhoe, Im doing it with the front bucket. The MX is too wide for the road in most places and where it does fit, I find the width of the bucket often does not allow a nice even cut (one side digs deep and the other shallow for example dues to the width of it) If I didn't have the BX this work would be done with a shovel , so the BX is earning its keep with me.

With apologies to Jay4200: :)

There are 1/2 inch wrench fans who think it is a real wrench, but it isn't. It is virtually useless for doing REAL work. I played with mine for a about 20 minutes, then grabbed my 1 1/4 wrench. I had more work done on the first twist on that 1 1/4 nut than the 1/2 inch wrench did in those 20 minutes.

Different size tools for different size jobs. Probably 70% of the time I use my BX, it is a job a larger tractor couldn't do, not because of power, but because of size.

Hi If I was spending your money I'd keep the bx25 to mow the yard, till garden, plant trees, do driveway etc. Depending on time of year closing finding a older 2 wheel trac/brushog for pasture/bulk orchard areas by first spring and limping along with 25 in past/orch till then. Thinking ford 8/9N 5' size hog. If you had 2 find somebody to hog it first time with bigger tractor, get a 5' hog and keep after it with it on bx mid/late summer/fall till you get your 8/9n sized tractor. Get a good bx25 skidpan/fan protector. Sounds fun

Over the past 11 years I've owned 17 Kubotas which was 16 different ones since I traded one the F2680e off and a year later bought it back. Of those 16 different ones I've owned most of the BX and B models made during the past 11 years and one Grand L3240HST+. I used all of them for more than 20 minutes. The L was the least used of all of them because it was to big for MY NEEDS. I don't farm, I do residential home landscaping plus a rental property maintaining. I had a BX25 and now have a B2620 FEL BH and would rather have the BX25 for my current needs.
Implements that I've used on BXs. Kubota tiller, post hole digger, landscape rake, RatchetRake, tooth bar, rear blade, Ferguson overseeder, Pats quick hitch plus 2 other brand quick hitches, and boxblade. Have used rear finish mowers and single bottom plow on B models and the L model. The Grand L was a great tractor but of all my TRACTORS (BXs included) the L was my least used and least favorite with the BX25 being my all time favorite TRACTOR.
The to little theory can also apply to trucks as a perfect example, the only real truck is a 16 wheeler which makes all pick ups toys.
