Dave,
It may be that your tractor is configured differently than others. All TS354X models that we have seen have spin on oil and fuel. I'm at home now so don't have the cross over for the oil, we have had a problem matching the fuel filter the normal replacement is napa 3195 but that does not work on some TY395 engines due to shape of top of filter. If you have a canister type oil filter, it is possible that your dealer swapped the housing with a KM454 or KM554 in which case we have the oil filter elements in stock.

Hi Dwayne
What do you mean by "extremely cold natured"?

Doesn't want to start below 40 degrees.

I fixed that here recently with a lower hose heater. Now it'll fire right up after being plugged in for a few hours.

I can second that, my 354C is a bear to start in the cold and in SC it ain't that cold! I would definitely recommend the water heater too.

After I bought my KAMA I installed a lower radiator hose heater because of the reports I had heard about diesel engines being hard to start in cold weather (the KAMA is my first diesel). So far I haven't had to use it, even in 10 degree weather. It fires up fine in any weather as long as the battery has a full charge.
Just out of curiosity, does your KAMA have the direct injection fuel system?

bluechip,
My oil and fuel filters both have a metal housing that has to be removed to replace the pleated paper type filters. I don't know if my dealer altered my tractor or not since he has gone out of business. I wish they were both "Spin-on" type filters due to the easier replacement.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I wish it did. It would be a lot easier to start. Mines the indirect injection swirl chamber type.

ZogMan - My TS354C was a real bear to start when I first got it too. The fact that there's no compression release installed doesn't help either. But I've since made some reasonably simple (and inexpensive) electrical modifications that have improved cold starting (almost) to the ease with which I start my direct injection KM454.

You and DwayneB are welcome to email me to discuss this further offline.

Hi Greg,

Mine has a compression release but the cable doesn't work well and the ear on the cam/valve bracket that hold the compression release rod broke off inside the vavle cover area so I quit using it for fear of breaking it again.

Interesting. It is a Y485 you've got - right? There's absolutely no clearance between my valve cover and the fuel tank, and I've only got two cable pulls anyway (hood release and fuel stop). Does that mean you've got three cable pulls?

There is a lever on the end of my valve cover crammed in between the fuel tank. If it's not there, is there a cover plate on the end? I do indeed have three cable pulls - third one left of the starter switch. The cable never worked well because is wasn't secured good enought to pull the compression lever down. I opened the hood and did it by hand usually. I can take pics if you want. Let me know.
