Thanks for the kind words. Flipped the breaker on Fri, so power is restored. All units back in service, except for the tore up yard aspect of the ditch. Hope to get working on that today. My wife has become really good at various aspects of the tractoring experience. She's my go-to operator if we need to auger some holes or finesse the FEL while I'm out front.
Can't really say much about the payback aspect of our solar. We are completely off grid and never seriously considered having power brought in when our realtor gave us a ballpark pole cost years ago. Chances are, if on grid we'd use more power than we do and just whine about the cost. At this point I'm looking at around 18kw/day average. Once I move the cottage PV to join the main system should be ok, until then I expect to hear my generator come on a bit more, but not much.
