keep the fog out

/ keep the fog out #12
I have been welding since the 1960's, and US Navy welding trained since 1971,,,

I have a double whammy,,, I wear glasses,, and depending on the weather,, both will fog,,,
BUT,, I soon learned how to NOT fog either lens while welding,,,

Simply breathe in through your nose,, then BLOW air out in a downward direction,, with a little force.
The blowing downward will remove the moist air from behind the welding helmet,,

if some fogging occurs,, inhaling through your nose brings the cool air with low humidity into the area behind the lens,,
that cool dry air can actually remove fog the previous breath created,,,

OK, lets all practice,, IN - (through your nose),,, OUT - (through your mouth),, IN,,, - OUT,,,, -,, IN,,, - OUT,,,, -,, IN,,, - OUT,,,, -

I feel like Jack LaLanne,,,,

???????? You mean hock up a good load of phlegm and have at it? Grin
Actually we would spit in our masks to clean & defog them. Normal spit, not phlem. Pretty standard practice for divers or swimmers actually.
