Keeping character, or restoring a pond

I was driving by there a couple of days ago and if there's any water in it, it wasn't enough to see from the road.

The pond project is on hold until this summer the way it looks now. I have other projects and clients and this client needs a break from the constant financial drain of my presence. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

We had three and a half inches of rain last weekend and it put about two feet of water into the deepest part of the pond. The only run off that's directly into the pond is along it's edges.

The pond is pond number three or four, I forget which, in a series that gets water from four or five hundred acres. And normally there's a water flow end of September thru May or early June.

But those are years when we get thirty five inches of rain, our normal. But we're like eighteen inches behind due to the drought over the last year.

It will rain. The water will flow. And we'll get pictures of the floating boulders with their fountains working too.

We just have to wait.

The only other option is to fill it with city water. Let's see, one point six million gallons of water times their rate, .......let's wait for rain. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Harv,

Thanks for your reply. Well then, just like the locals around there in Texas, we will wait for rain. If we dont' get a photo or tow in a couple 3 - 4 -5 onths don't feel bad if we send you a tickler.

I just got the call.

Client says the water will be flowing into our pond within the hour. The ponds up stream are full.

I just ran out to empty my rain gauge because it was almost full. It holds five inches. This is from yesterday morning.

It's got almost another three quarters of an inch in the last twenty plus minutes. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We have needed this rain for some time now.

Either tonight or tomorrow we'll post pictures of the pond full of water.

Life is truly good.

You're getting even more rain than I am. I dumped 2.1" out of my gauge at 7:30 this morning, from yesterday and last night, and it's been raining most of the day, but I don't think it'll get anywhere near 5" all together.

Harv,

9 7/8" since last night and it's still coming down here in Rowlett. I know you've been waiting to see the ponds full. Make sure you take some pictures for us.

I wonder what Eddie Walker's lake is looking like.

The pond is full. This is the view of the deck that goes out over the water about eight thirty this evening. It's since gone down according to the client.

This is of the water coming into the pond. If you look close you can see parts of some of the floating boulders.
