I am wanting to build one and would like to know if the frame is made from square tubing or solid bar? I don't have anyone around me that has one that I know of so I'm not sure of the dimensions, so any help would be much appreciated.:) Thanks' Charlie.

Square tubing with decent wall thickness should work fine and use less $teel.
I think 2x2 with 1/8 wall would work and 3/16 or 1/4 wall would be ideal.
I plan to build one that will also take different shovels and sweeps.

Thank's for the input, I was hoping that someone who had bought one from Agri-supply or somewhere else might be able to give me some dimensions, or input on how it could be built to be better or more useful, I've never used one so I don't know, or someone who has built a home made one would work to, I appreciate you guys time. Thanks' Charlie.

My version, the "Markuvator", was built with 2" square 1/4" wall. The upright for the toplink is 26", the toolbar itself is 48". The revision build adds a furrowing attachment to build the hill and dig the planting furrow in one pass. This one worked fine, I just like making stuff and being lazy. :D The following is from the ASC website, dimensions of their product,

"The 1-1/4 toolbar accommodates IHC-style wedge clamp & bolts. The frame is 56 outside to outside and the arms are 15-3/8 length on both sides, with 7/8 category 1 lift arm pins."

I'll add, the furrowing attachment will make it a few pounds heavier, and allow it to stand up when parked. I'd get the discs with the longer shanks if I have to replace them. This little thing works really good in a seedbed properly prepared. My gardens were first plowed and then disced and leveled. The resulting furrow created by the discs, is a great way to water with less evaporation. Hope this helps. Mark

Thanks' Mark I actually saw a picture of yours in an older thread when I searched around a little bit. I have decided to build mine out of 2" square tubing for the frame and 1&1/4 solid bar as that is what I can order clamps for the hillers for, and I like the idea of being able to loosen 1 bolt and slide it anywhere I need to, to get my beds like I want them. I believe I will also make mine a little wider so I can put sweeps out even with my rear tires on my tractor to help cut down on grass and weeds. By the way Mark that's a nice job you did on yours, and again I appreciate all of you who have taken your time to give me information. Charlie.

I have one from Agri, (lucky it's only 10 miles from my home) it is made of 2" x 1/4" tubing, if you would like the measurements I'll would be glad to measure for you. Just let me know.

Eddie, I would like to know what the measurement is from the 1&1/4 to the top of the frame, I was going to make mine 24" and 18" from the lift arm pins to the 3rd link attachment so if I could get that measurement as well it would be much appreciated. Thanks' Charlie.

Gotta love search engines... Stumbled across this thread and learned something new yet again. One thing I should be thankful for is this store NOT being 10 miles from me. Would probably spend way too much time and money there. :D

Like Charlie, I am planning to build my own tool bar and hope to use the IHC Clamp and Wedge mounts.

2" x 1/2" square tubing is what my hiller bedder is made of. Standard size from what I can see.
3/16 square tubing, I think is too light for building it.

Here is mine off of ebay with 2 extra discs. That piece in the middle was something I tried out for smoothing - coming off.
