The sun was finally popping in and out today so we went for a ride along the lake between Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor just to do something beside blow snow.
I took the last pictures from my front porch of the sun setting tonight.

First day with no snow in 2 weeks. Been bright and sunny all day so far. Thought I would take some pictures around the homestead while the sun was still out. The tractor is in the barn enjoying the rest.

Still snowing here guys, and rather hard today. 6th photo is my ford ranger, after it was shoved off and used earlier today.. NOAA says Monday night will be the end of it. Its snowing in all these photos, so I struggle to take good ones. (not that I'm ever any good) :laughing:

Man, would I ever love to drive that machine! I had one of the old 4 x 6 ones, with a 250 mL two-stroke engine. It was a great ATV. Gave it away to a friend when I got my new CanAm. He still has it.

It would be so much fun to have those tracks! I tried one out years ago on the “back 40“ at the dealers property. Went through incredibly deep snow no problem. But those tracks are sooo expensive!

In the atv section here, I do have a thread concerning the boss and the plow we put on it. But I was rather surprised just how few people here seem to use them. We love the machine and when we replace it, it will be a Can-am Outlander version which comes with a more powerful 1000cc engine. Our pods ran over 5K back in 2014. They are indeed costly, but we won't run our 6x6 in the winter without them. If anyone care to discuss these or has more questions about these wonderful unity machines, please post them in those threads in the ATV/UTV section.

Over the weekend we attended a National Forest survival training seminar that included snowmobile operations. Ak; you got your machine stuck, how to get unstuck. Since we don't own a snowmobile, were brought our Boss and heard in advance, that we will all get stuck today. But our Boss PSI is so low, there was not enough snow for it to sink and get stuck while all other participants did get there machines stuck. These was about 3ft of fresh snow there and some folks had Skandic SWT's which have the largest tracks on snowmobiles made.

Back to Kewee winter. Here is a video claiming to be "rare" triple ice volcanoes on our lake shore. Since these are made all along the shove ice, I'm not sure about the rare part. And let me add, we've found 20lb rocks thrown out of these before.

Not exactly the same thing but a pic I took when I was working ina nearby town called Pontoosuc, Illinois. This was in January and ice jams were as high as the roof of this house. It was also causing flooding, but it seems like this town floods every other week. Mississippi River.
